are they that underrated though?  pet sounds seems to show up on basically all "best album" lists (could be making this up but it seems this way)

I think if you don't consider them the greatest band of the 60's, you may be underrating them. Maybe most people appreciate Brian Wilson for the genius he is, not sure. I think a lot of peoples' perception of the Beach Boys is unjustly influenced by Kokomo, too.

That's closely related to the Full House reference: . I think a lot of folks in their late 20's/mid-30's received their first exposure to the Beach Boys through Kokomo/Full House and contributes to underrating.

Pet Sounds was the inspiration for Sgt. Pepper.

Anyone go to Postal Service last night? Going tonight with ksudeuce and mrsksudeuce. :excited:

I did.  They only played for a little over an hour, but it was really good.  Always like watching shows at the Midland.

Most bands should limit themselves to a little over an hour IMO. I get bored very easily beyond that.

Most bands can't fill much more than an hour with quality content. Postal Service sure can't.

Agree about PS. Never understood why they have so many "fans" with only 1 mediocre cd

Call it an album or a record, not a CD, to sound cool.

Better. And its a great record, and the show was fun, and I liked it. Music is really subjective is I guess the point.

Would have but I had to go out of town. Mates is fantastic.

Somebody uploaded footage from the Lawrence "rehearsal" on Monday: . Not the greatest quality, but the closest thing I've heard of in a while in the KC area to one of those "pop-up" concerts that seem to happen in Brooklyn and other "cool" places.

It's hard to play over an hour when all you have is one (super boring) album from a decade ago.

I think its a good album, but then again, music is really subjective.

I'm trying really hard to come up with a reason why puni and stevesie shouldn't go and I really can't come up with any.

There's a new band in Manhattan, KS that makes any other act in a 100 mile radius look like complete pud.

I'm pretty sure they were booked on back-to-back weekends. I think I'll catch them next weekend. Color Me Badd on the other hand....
