eff, that list is amazingly horrible. Topekans love the crap out of chain restaurants and all things mass media delivered.  It is one of the very, very worst towns in America.

I was born and raised there. I am a survivor.

I was gonna say this too. If your town's favorite burger is from a massive corporate chain than someone needs to open a new burger place.

they have a burger stand, which for topeka, is pretty good

Me too. I go to a "Topeka Survivor" support group on Thursday nights. Not sure I could have gotten through life without it.

the image of you trying to peddle meth to fellow survivors in the group intrigues me, so please don't correct me if false

You know another town that loves their chain restaurants?  Wichita.  Every cool, locally owned place goes out of business because rubes would rather have Pizza Hut than Picassos.  eff this town.  (I was also born in Topeka.)

I guess you're probably right. It's a Topeka problem, not a burger problem.

I am so jealous of people who are proud of their home towns.  That must feel great.

In my dreams, I dream of a disaster that renders the entire city of Topeka uninhabitable, yet kills no one.  Then, all the Topekans move to other cities and live enriched, happy lives and are glad as eff that they left that stinking hell hole.

Then, they build a fence around Topeka and send rapists, pedophiles, and murderers there to serve their time.

To sum up, Topeka is to America as poop is to things that are not poop.

Hey, you can all shut your faces about North Topeka and Seaman High School. I barely escaped that crap-hole with my life, but that doesn't mean you can talk bad about it.

For those of you who miss good BBQ, head out to Lon's BBQ on 21st east of the Deer Creek RV park. He's only open limited hours, but he's serves the best BBQ in town since the old man at Boss Hawg's passed.

Seaman High Grad of '08.

Boss Hawg's is a real thing. I got shot at outside of their establishment after a long Sunday Funday because I wouldn't let some strange bar patron sleep at my house. I'm so glad I no longer live in Topeka.

Back in it's heyday you could get an excellent pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, cornbread and a Big Red to drink. It was an amazing meal, and I tried to convince my family to pick Boss Hawg's every time we went out to eat.

Me too, my grandmother was one of your librarians.

Yes, it is a grade school now. The school board, in it's infinite wisdom, closed the two poorest and troubled grade schools, E.I. (where I went) and Lyman, to combine them at Logan and make one gigantic craphole of a grade school.

Lol, my parents actually live in a very nice area north of Topeka. For some reason, the school district bused kids in from my area to go to that craphole school. My family isn't poor. I am, as I'm working part-time and going to grad school full-time, but that's a little different.

I can talk bad about it.  I've done 100mph on 46th street on the way to/from school more times than I can count.  There's probably a rough ridin' monument at the State Lake dedicated to my truck.  If you an't from the West Indianianola district get your ass out the West Inidanola district.  :gocho:

Hit the nail on the head, in my short time in Topeka I've learned that topekians love chain restaurants, and the majority (non EMAW) are smelly and over weight.

Sounds like Leavenworth?
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.
