As I age into an old man one of my greatest decision's was to only allow sports to bring me joy. Was I angry and disappointed right after the game? Sure, but after about an hour I was over it.

And you know what, when our Katz rip off like 5 straight wins after this I'm going to be first pumping my face off until the inevitable WTF loss and then its rinse and repeat.

I'm getting there. A loss like this would have ruined several days for me just a couple years ago. Now I went out and pressure washed the patio and used my new Ryobi pole saw to trim a couple limbs, and after I was done I forgot the game had happened for like 30 minutes. But then I got sad again when I remembered.  Baby steps.

Pop Tart is a mediocre QB, and we will never compete for anything meaningful while he’s under center.

Breaking a 3 year posting hiatus for this, lmao.

I’m pretty much there but I still get frustrated with the same stupid mistakes and/or play calls. Like, if we play good but get mushed by better players, whatevs. It does bug the crap out of me when the special teams sucks or we throw 3 yard outs on 3rd and 5. This crap just keeps happening and it doesn’t have to. Whatevs though. I hope the Dublin bros had fun.

I find that my propensity to get irritated is directly proportional to the company I'm around when watching a game.

Example 1: when we called those two dogshit plays inside the 10 in the 2nd quarter on 3rd/4th down, after the first, I yelled, "You stupid assholes" outloud. After the second, I yelled "You god damn stupid motherfuckers" In both cases, wife/kids not at home.

Example 2: when we ran our soft, absorb contact first/get yards second QB on that 4th down play in the 4th quarter and didn't get the first down, I just shook my head. In this case, wife/kids were also watching.

Is that good/bad? I don't know. But that's where I'm at.

Age definitely helps, but Qats U being mostly MEH for 9 out of every 10-ish years is a pretty effective way of making me not care as much also. But, we're still blessed to have that. Many fanbases would kill for our success.

Reminds me of Dak Prescott. Better than most, but not elite. Looks great on occasion, sets records, but not uncommon to kill drives with bad decisions or inaccurate throws.

My parents where here this weekend and my dad wanted to cookout for the game. I made brunchy stuff for us on the griddle. Ms TBT came over and we all watched the game. I honestly didn’t even really watch/pay attention to the game until the 4th quarter. We all watched the last part but WELP and disappointed with the outcome.

HOWEVER, it didn’t impact us at all. We went out and enjoyed the beautiful day in south Texas. We had an amazing dinner and I didn’t even think about KSU cats football at all. I enjoyed time with the love of my life and my family.

I had like a billion group text messages and junk from people but man. Go enjoy your life, guys. Who gives a crap about this really dumb thing called football.

It's amazing how we've made such an electric treat into such a mediocre runner. Becht was more a threat yesterday.

It's incredibly freeing

Yup.  I find myself getting more annoyed at coaches than players which is nice.  Being mad at kids was always gross.  Being mad at a guy who looks like a mole and makes millions is fine.

I haven't heard from you in a while, but I have to disagree with your assessment.  After watching several podcasts today, none of them thought AJ did a bad job, and some thought he performed quite well.  Our OC doesn't want him to get injured because we don't have a backup that he feels can compete at AJ's level.  Also, no one had anything positive to say about OC Wells to call the plays needed to move the offense with any creativity.

He missed a few throws and the designed runs took way too long to get going but he was fine.

Campbell smacked the crap out of Kleiman and now it’s to the point you can see the fear on the mole’s face when he even glimpses him.

Adding in some non-KSU hot takes, will see how these hold up over the season:
- ASU/Dillingham are the real deal, he’ll have them back in Arlington
- KU will exorcise the demons of last season and have a very good year (finish among Big 12 top 3)

I am starting to put less on our OC and more on the HC's demands on how the offense is run.

I also think CK still thinks he's at NDSU when it was '95 Nebraska Lite and he can just go for it running basic stuff with glitzy blocking schemes and the OL will just move people out of the way and it's another first down for the Bison.

I thought overall AJ was pretty decent and once again - unless our WR are wide open and the ball is thrown perfectly, they ain't catching the ball.

But back to my OP - I am putting our offensive WTF'ery on the HC until further notice.

I like KSU as a power run game. I mean that’s exactly how ISU beat us. Losing your star RB on basically the first play does put a damper on that, though.

We had some great pass schemes when we needed them, some receivers just dropped them or the timing was slightly off, but some hit perfectly.

This team strikes me as similar to the Chiefs the last couple years. The offense may not blow out anyone but a threat to score whenever needed. That means the defense has to be elite (relative to the Big 12) to have a shot at the title.

We apparently have a stud true freshman corner. And speaking of true freshmen, why wasn't Cure available to play? Is he injured or not on the travel roster?

DeVon Rice is going to be very good for us. I enjoyed his running a lot.

I still like to believe Avery has some left in the tank. Had a solid day. Just get the effing ball out of your hands and look to your guys... Sacks because you refuse to get rid of the ball help no one.
If we win the next 5 consider me all the way back.

DEdwards being out I think also shakes the offense up a bit. Sucks but that's showbiz baby

Feeling pretty bullish about a disconnect maybe from Klieman to wells. I still think the Punt vs Avery running it cost us the game, would love to hear the conversation between the two after the game about it. Yes the spot was questionable but You like to think the D can maybe get something done.

Defense is very good. They are quick. We have a lot to look forward to. Think we gel a bit more over the next few weeks. What a weird year.

Yeah and thats what sticks out. LMAO. Again, Avery didn't have a bad game.

On the flip side our defense was able to get to Rocco 4 times. We should kill UND. Should be a fun few weeks.
