I actually 100% believe this. I bet Elon is insufferable in a group chat.

I just got doge'd.  Fed contract terminated as of Mar 31st in the middle of it.  Highest performing member of my team and just had the highest performance rating possible.  Agency and contracting company are at a loss for why, as I am deemed critical.  Eff all these guys!

I'm sorry friend. This is all so unnecessary and stupid. On the bright side, at least those four trans kids can't play JV volleyball in Idaho anymore though right???

I am fascinated by the mindsight that says that if you work in the Federal sector or if you have a contract to support the Federal sector, that you'll have a job forever and ever, and that contracts will never be cancelled and will go on into perpetuity.

Meanwhile, we've got a Federal Government that's $37 trillion dollars in debt, will spend $2 Trillion just on interest alone this FFY, and just went through the first quarter of FFY'25 (which started before Trump) borrowing an all time record level of money for a single quarter.

Meanwhile in the private sector contracts get cancelled, projects cancelled, budgets reduced, priorities changed, people laid off etc. etc. All day - every day

Yeah, I was laid off from my 9 year private sector job a year and a half ago.  The difference here is there is no rationale for the cuts.  I was performing a critical function that will now not be covered, at least until they realize it was a mistake and bring me back.

I'm sorry to hear that.

But like all things like this, I suspect a bunch of people will end up just being hired back.

I've seen some people get hired back at private companies 2 or 3 times.

I shared an anecdotal story from my bro, his colleagues were all pissed off because a litany of publications were cancelled . . . 2 days later an email circulating looking for requests for re-subscription that would be reviewed.  So, they weren't going to get a "have purchasing card will travel" scenario, but they were going to get a bunch of stuff back.

We've got entire agencies where people make on avg $150K a year and all they do is travel and spend money, and nobody really knows what they do . . . but they've got (or had) Fortune 25 C-Suite level offices, tho

Contracts with the Federal government have a clearly defined expiration date and it shouldn't be unrealistic to expect the government to honor the contract through that date.

For those that don't follow such things, the crime ac shadows committed is having two playable characters. One is a black man and the other an asian woman.

The thought of MAGAs yelling at their computers waiting for the new game to download after it was released at midnight and then finally starting it up and finding out they can't be a white guy does make me chuckle. What percentage of them immediately went to twitter to rage? 50%?

They totally aren't racist though and I have no idea why people keep thinking MAGAs are racist......
