My (LFBIQ) game recap:

1.  Cats should tackle better next time.
2. Avery should run less. He will get broken.
3. Hawks are the best team with a losing record in the NCAAs.
That game was probably KU’s best use of Daniels all year. If I were a KU fan I’d be wondering where the eff that has been.

Daniels is probably more infuriating to coach than Webb was.

Avery should run more, it’s what he does best

KU is finished, they blew their load on us.  They are going to get waxed by ISU, BYU and then CU.  Whatever is left after that Baylor will scrape off the floor.

My overall take was ku made more mistakes, we failed to capitalize on any of them (for the most part).

Ku balled out but ultimately they shot themselves more that we did. I truly thought our TD that led to their 1 yard line bonehead catch on the kickoff that led to the safety that also got us a TD on the next drive was going to break ku and it didn't. Truly impressive.

Our 3rd down defense was atrocious, but again credit to ku for converting.

The Avery fumble after Edwards long run I think also was the difference in us again not taking adr, as was getting the ball twice at near midfield and only having the game winning fg be the only points (obv big but like, that drive was very poor).

It felt like we were playing scares/not to lose, and ku was definitely playing to win but once Daniels was finally being pressured and had to play hero ball his faults came out.

Glad to have won, glad it's over too though. Gotta clean a lot up.

That would have ended a lot of recent Sunflower Showdowns. The play on that KO was incredibly boneheaded.

But that's KU football. Give up 3 free points (safety + missed PAT) and lose by 2.

Just arrived home from the game. What a nasty bunch of hillbillies that show up at KSU games. I sat by the KU band and saw one of the band members with a bloody nose. I do not know how he got the bloody nose but have a good idea. Oh and of course a round of "hey gayhawk" every chance they would get. My last time going to manhattan

I can handle some verbal abuse but when you start hitting a 19 year old band member, that's some kind of low

Austin Moore waving the wheat was perfect
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I watched one of KU's games and I could hear the stewed section yelling "eff K-State" for some reason.  Sorry asses can't get their loser ship out of their minds.

Incredible snippet of prose in this Dillon's recap from D. Scott. Does he have an editor?
Also, the more I think about it, the less I like our Dillon's streak hinging on somebody making a 51yd FG. We need to be up by 4 TDs with the thing totally salted away by 4Q.

Quote
By: D. Scott Fritchen

Where does the baseball go? And where does it sail? And where does it fall, this imaginary baseball that Chris Tennant hits with his imaginary bat seconds after drilling a game-winning field goal at LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium. There's a boy. A ball. A dream. Except the boy is all grown up now. He's a 6-foot-5, 226-pound field goal machine from Shawnee, Kansas, a 21-year-old special teams leader for the Kansas State Wildcats, and he has just launched an imaginary baseball over the celebratory fireworks and high above the crowd of 52,074 cheering so loudly that it vibrates the metal railings in the stands. We can only assume his mighty right-handed swing was a grand slam blast, like in the World Series, where dreams also come true, but, alas, this is no dream, the imaginary baseball bat swing celebration by Tennant was a mere sidebar to the biting reality that exists here in this moment, and that shouldn't be taken lightly.

There's 1 minute, 42 seconds left on the clock. It's the fourth quarter. Kansas leads No. 16 K-State, 27-26. It's just before 11 p.m. The game that has stretched more than 3 ½ hours has been an off-the-rails joyride of in-state passion, a Dillons Sunflower Showdown for the ages, so much pride, so many hoarse voices, so many songs by the K-State and KU marching bands, an array of hair-pulling moments awash in purple and white, blue and red, as school colors and visions begin to blur. When will it end? And how will it end? Yes, the game deserves a hero.

That was a fun read from D. Scott. However, I agree that these last two games have gotten way too close for comfort.

I'm only 1/4 of the way through the meltdown and game threads on the phog, but the tears are oh so delicious. They are really upset over there and dogging on anything they can think up; our stadium, our fans, the refs, vandalized vehicles, their coaches, the kickoff time... and there's definitely a lot of talk about SA, animals, and phallic objects in the discussion. I'm a little concerned for some of our brethren.

i think i could pretty comfortably bet my life that exactly none of these purported incidents of violence and vandalism actually happened in real life. Best case scenario is one of them rock em chalk em rayhawks drove an unwashed vehicle to town and someone used their finger to draw a dong with balls (b/c i know i personally did that to several cars with the DG sticker on the tag)
