If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

And Dave Portnoy of all people seems to understand it better than most

Anecdote: I got half season tickets to the New York Liberty, and I had to settle for upper deck. Nothing was available lower level. Hoping we can move down next year.

Isn't them getting more money inevitable starting in 2026 with the new media rights deal and adding all these expansion teams at $250M a pop? I'd guess the salary cap will at least double, the average player would be around 250k at those numbers.  Relative to the average NBA contract and the difference in media rights revenue that seems pretty much right in line with what it should be.

Getting more is inevitable. Getting what the players deserve might not be. Either way, any lack of "profitability" of the league should not  prevent the players from earning more money given the overall financial picture you touched on.

What do they deserve?  I don't understand how to calculate that other than a percentage of the revenue.

Your calculation may be the best way to determine what they deserve, but I don't think it's inevitable that the owners give them that.

Why don't the players just go on strike until they are paid what they believe they deserve?

It's pretty hard to strike when you only make $75k, I would assume.

Based on their posturing, they surely are so valuable to the owners that the owners wouldn't allow a single missed game to occur.

It never stopped Boeing workers.

I think the shirts are mostly a reference to the ongoing CBA negotiations, and not necessarily salaries and revenue sharing under the existing CBA.

Isn't that effectively what they have done by exercising their right to opt of the current CBA early?  There won't be a 2026 season if they don't agree to a deal.
