I wasn't there, and it has been 13 years, but the win over Texas was the loudest I've ever heard the place (non-KU).

JANUARY 18, 2010 — 71-62 OVER NO. 1 TEXAS

Pete and I had a vuvuzela in Sec. 17.

That was a great game, I think I was able to get in the 6th row of the student section

I court stormed, stepped on a folding chair, it folded, I went down in the storm.  Struggled to my feet and ran right into weird robert.  This is all on a hilarious iphone video

It was a lot more fun than the ku one in 2008, because of being so close, and less stress over just going to try and win the game vs the whole streak. It also took forever in 2008 to get from the 28thish row to the floor, despite waiting all day in line :dubious:

I know a lot of the lineup rules changes because of said ku game, once it got to like 2 hours before game time those who were just saving spots for everyone else got people, and then a bunch of people just rushed into the line, it was shitty, though the game was great to be a part of. So being that close for Texas felt like a proper spot for the time spent to get it.

Great photo

that is a really great photo. esp considering if you didn't know the context it looks like the baylor guy just drained a 3 and he's excited about it and Art decided to lay down on the floor to watch for some reason

I've said it in other treads but whoever is doing photography and posting on the socials for our athletic dept is doing a phenomenal job.

I'm calling cap. We didn't rush the floor after we beat #1 Texas. It was like, a whole thing.

2010 v #1 UT was more akin to 2002 v USC football , game and crowd-wise.

That Rodney dunk OMG!!!!!!!!
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Can confirm, as I was there and distinctly remember the iCat section chanting "don't storm the court" to the GA section as they were preparing to go over the railing. The GA students ended up backing down (obviously).

My wife was 17 at the time (she was not, however, my wife at the time) and she didn't get the memo about not rushing the court. Her and like 12 people were escorted out.

ESPN even mentioned it on Sportscenter that night because there had been dozens of court stormings that year.

Edit to say ESPN mentioned that we elected to not storm the court*

Ah, yes, that was the birth of the "We Own Texas" chant and Bob Knight suggesting we chant "Thank you, good game" instead.

This is my Mandela effet moment, I could'nt necessarily remember storming but when someone says something certain I went with it.
