For Dick, this is all just another possible business challenge. Gotta keep certain donors happy to keep his gravy train running. If Gene leaves and the coaching talent leave, oh well...just move on to another job or retire and move across the country and never think of the State of Kansas ever again. Very little personal risk here for Dick. He's had a successful business career already, he can easily retire anywhere he'd like.

He (allegedly) turned down a huge pay raise to go to Nebraska last year so I'd say he ain't going anywhere while Gene is here. I suppose Iowa might be an exception to that.

There will be a lot of strong opinions on either side of that one, but it would seem to me that we have proven that we can do better than hiring someone with zero head coaching experience and only a couple years of coordinator experience.
