FWIW, neither Schembechler nor Belichick ever served in the military. Best I can tell is that Schembechler was an assistant at Army for like, a second, and Belichick's dad was in the Navy.

It's really hard to get admitted!

If what Michigan did is against the rules, it's "cheating," imo. And I think this is more "cheating" than paying players or basically any of the other NCAA violations I can think of are.
