There was a thread on ags about it was near universally hated. The one guy that liked it was still frustrated with having a gay character though

It's pretty amazing. Worth shutting everything else and focusing on it, but I think it's pretty good just on vibes. Definitely some amazing fight scenes and a creative plot, but the relationships are extremely well crafted. But don't feel like you need to watch it if you don't want to.

I had watched the first episode and it was hard to follow. I guess if I watched more of the shows, I might get interested enough to figure out what the purpose of the show is. Also, it's WGAF if there are gays in it. At this point in time, it's become quite normal versus '80s/90's shows.

my wife (not very maga) thought it was stupid and was mad it won so many awards, but i don't remember why she didn't like it.

I bet plenty of non Magas hated it and had valid reasons. It's a lot to take in.

1a) People (Hollywood) applauding Asian representation and they need to push back against that
1b) LGBTQ themes
3) Too confusing

Ah, carry on then. I do intend to see this movie whenever I can stream it for free. Although now I'm afraid I might not "get it" and be forced to confront the reality that I am either an idiot or a MAGA (or both?)

Can you list any reasons an intelligent lib might not like this movie? Just having difficulty discerning from the reviews so far ITT.
