When was the last time a major US political figure was the target of an assassination attempt? I know Reagan was shot in 1981, but have there been any others since?

There have “allegedly” been multiple attempts on numerous presidents (sitting and former).  But usually they are mitigated before actual damage is done.  At least that’s how i’ve read about it in the past.

people walk around open carrying guns all the time here. what are you going to do about it? NOT allow them to? Anyone can walk up to anywhere with a sniper rifle. It's their right, unfortunately.

Also (unrelated) my dad dropped a white tail giant buck with a .243 from like 300 yards on our ranch and I witnessed it when I was like 9 and, folks, that was pretty sick. and I don't even like shooting animals for fun. it's (the mounted head) the only thing I have "claimed" from my family when my folks kick the bucket since I was there to see it.

Yeah, like to just be lightly grazed is just unlikely. Who behind him if at all were injured? Seriously sees if he was that close to getting his head blown off someone behind got the brunt
