I’ll be honest, I mostly just follow politics (at least on this board) because it presents a lot of interesting topics to hash through with my fellow gE-ers. I guess that and in case I am in a position of power one day it would be nice not to be completely clueless.

I am glad you started this thread.  I have always been a bastion.....? for pointing out the biggest hypocrites on this board because of their partisanship.  I am one of the few bipartisan's on this board.

My actual answer is unintelligent does not mean low information voter and independent does not mean bipartisan and I don’t actually think you are a dumbass. But true undecideds are actually a lot like _33 in that they think they are too clever to bother reading anything to know any of the basic facts.

That’s fair enough (and the pit gonna pit) but honestly no actual good conversations/debates seems to happen. Everyone seems so rooted in their own party they don’t actually listen to anything but are more prioritized for debating ones position. Also why some of us get turned off by politics (myself included although I do pay attention). I get my guy cd33s point though. What’s the overall objective? The pit reads like a Facebook comment section. It’s easier to call someone a MAGA or a libtard and none of us are changing what’s going on in the world or probably another peers mind

I find interesting conversation here all the time, and I've absolutely been influenced by opinions I read here. Like sys has transformed into a violent moderate and I disagree with him a lot but I pretty much always find his posts interesting (even if they're a bit nitpicky). DLew always seems to come with an open mind and a perspective that's different than my own. steve dave is a rough ridin' republican who worships ted sasse but I always appreciate his posts. I thought a lot of people genuinely tried to learn from each other in the trans swimmer thread.
