I once worked with a guy from one of those former Soviet countries. One time, a bunch of us were shooting a paint gun at a target out behind the office. When it was his turn, it was immediately obvious to me just from the posture he took that he'd had some sort of military training. It was like, "oh, crap. He's for real."

Best case scenario is Russia getting pantsed in Ukraine without us doing anything but providing intel. I do think the US providing some air support to make that happen is better than a scenario where Russia annexes Ukraine due to us staying out completely, though.

Of course, smart people like me recognize that part of this is driven by the deplorable energy policies of countries like our alleged ally, Germany (who has pumped billions into Vlad Putin's pockets, lifted barely a finger to help Ukraine, refuses to meet its NATO financial mandate and still has an army unfit to fight).
