The U.S. fought in Vietnam for a decade and half . . . and still lost.
A 3rd world country that had no real indigenous arms industry and needed all of it's weapons and training had to come from China and Russia . . . and the U.S. still lost, got 50,000 plus Americans killed in the process, killed hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese, multiple CIA backed coups, assassination campaigns, B-52's carpet bombing, napalm and the U.S. still had slink out of town in the middle of the night on helicopters.
