I think a lot of people seem to think that somehow there will be some event that will finally change the course of events and return things to their “place”.

This is the same in the US, in Ukraine, in Russia, in China, in Italy, in the UK, Japan… occasionally radical things will happen like a former pm getting assassinated or a land war in Europe, but the structures and institutions just continue to sputter down the road. If everyone looks at the climate disaster unfolding before our eyes and pretty much shrugs I think it is very likely that the systems currently in place will just continue to perpetuate themselves at any cost.

Sea walls and guns and capitalism will keep things going don’t worry. So Putin isn’t going anywhere until he dies and then the state will probably just carry on in one flavor or another, there will not be a popular uprising.

This is the entire history of Russia.  Their government styles of changed, but their unspeakable atrocities against their own people stay the same.

Is Stalin still in charge in Russia?

You’d think that in the year of our Flying Spaghetti Monster 2022 we’d hear more about all of these Stalinesque type purges if they were still going on.

Why can’t they buy it from us? Certainly has to be better than freezing to death?

How were we supposed to know that Russia was actually like 1/10th as good at war as China?

Jesus, this war would have been over in like 10 seconds if China launched the ground invasion with months of prep time.

Pete, please document for me where a first world military power has gone up against another country who has received or who is receiving billions of dollars of 1st world weapons from other countries and had instantaneous success and just steam rolled them.

The last time the Chinese tried anything, Vietnam kicked their ass 7 ways from Sunday.

What makes you believe China is any more competent?

Some people are easily propagandized. This isn’t 1944 or 1948 or 1954.

Ukraine has no chance to stop hapless Russian invasion without 100s of millions in outside help from US/Europe (lol at their help). US/Europe will continue to fund just enough for this war to continue to rage on terrorizing/killing Ukrainian soldiers and citizens for the foreseeable future.

Why? The lives lost and toll on Ukrainian, Russian and to a smaller extent, but not insignificant, American citizens is worth it.

Barry Obama also said Ukraine isn’t worth fighting over and by and large implied not even worth funding if Russia ever invaded.

A real pickle for #blueanongE/#neocongE

The CF got crap tons of money from Ukrainians (and Russians).

Classic Russian intelligence operation. Didn’t you hear?  All the professional liars told you what to believe and #blueanon rank and file (numbering in the tens of millions) did as they were told.
