But each state sends ONE vote. It’s not like every Rep casts a vote. The total number of votes will equal fifty. Look at any color coded electoral map to figure out how that would go.

Yeah, third party Trump works because the blue state math stays the same. A strong third party contender for blue states would wreck everything, though. Not saying McConaughey or Cuban are strong enough contenders to do that, but I'd prefer it just be Biden or some other dem if he chooses not to run.

In key battlegrounds like Arizona, legislators and governors may soon have much greater freedom to make their own determination as to who should be regarded as the legitimate victor. This raises the possibility that partisan politicians with no special duty to administer elections neutrally may discount thousands of votes, sending electors for Donald Trump to the Electoral College even if Joe Biden (or another Democrat) wins the most votes in their state.

For instance:

Mark Cuban just went live with a online pharmacy that sells a couple hundred of the most popular drugs, does not take insurance at all, but sells the drugs for like $15.  Has spoken publicly about running and has hired ppl to look into that for him in the past.   Seems like a good move for a guy who might run as a independent moderate.

AllrightAllrightAllright.  He toyed with TX gov, had the early poll numbers to beat Stupid TX Gov Guy, but decided not to run.  Fast forward a few months and he is making press statements at his home town, Uvalde, that sound moderate canditate-y. 

Andrew yang.  new party, no Bernie, everyone hates Joe, Kamala, and Pete.  Had a good crossover with many Trump voters.  he might have a good shot. 

Will be interesting.

There really isn't even a singular group of "the dems".   The dems basically aren't a party anymore.  They used to be a coalition of everyone that wasn't a republican or libertarian.  That coalition blew up and there doesn't appear to be a "they" anymore, let alone an adult in the room. 

The Don jan 6th thing is probably only going to further cement Hillary's deplorables against the dems.  If Desantis can't wrestle the party away from Don, the choice is def going to be Don or "not don".  Even if Desantis does gain the party, there doesn't appear to be anyone in the chute for the dems, at any mid level or up, that will provide a better choice than "not don" or "not GOP".  I think the next several pres elections will be a crap show of culture war only choices.
