I bet ku does pretty good in the big 10. The big 12 schedule is just brutal for ku with no time to recover. The big 10 has a couple other real stinkers and I think our hawks could take advantage of the situation.

Multiple Toilet Bowl level weekends on that schedule for KU, no doubt they would prevail and likely be bowl eligible quite regularly in the BiG.   Not much of an SOS builder, but absolutely a bowl trophy case builder in the BiG.

Cornhole fans will be ecstatic, a trip to Lawrence is a real highlight for them.   It's their Kelly's Westport-Iowa State fan kind of ultimate road trip.

Oh, yeah. Nebraska is there. I had forgotten that they ended up in that crappy conference. They must be doing pretty well against the awful competition over there.

Yes, really nice that the Hawks will be able to replace one guaranteed near-sellout (KSU) with another.

Throw in an easier 8-game conference schedule, schedule 4 directional schools in the non-con, and BOOM … instantly Lance and the fellas are consistently a low-tier bowl team. It’s really a deal that’s better than they could have hoped for.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

The manager at the local Runza is ecstatic. Biggest day of the year.

Here we can see KU's future conference mates making KU feel at home by being the West Virginia of the big 10.

Kind of makes you wonder if KU to big 10 was happening before OuT to SEC. If Bill tipped off some former players what was going on then it's possible that it also leaked to OuT which could have spurred them to leave for the SEC.

Totally plausible.  Everyone knows OU and Texas take all their cues from Kansas.

This addition by subtraction can't happen soon enough. Three of the new schools joining the powerhouse Big 12 are nationally ranked. They can take their bouncy ball and just go so we can add Notre Dame or some other classy pigskin school.

Serious question for Spracne:
Will KU's sister school, Emporia State, be going with KU to the Big 10?  (KU and Emporia's campuses were designed by Isaac Goodenow, who founded k-state's college of agriculture, and were seen as sister institutions designed by bigger brother in Manhattan).

While I question the sincerity of your "serious question," I will nonetheless give a serious response. I could go on and on about how KU has a blueblood bball program that is a sleeping revenue giant in the twilight days of the NCAA, but I'll be real with you. I can admit that the true driver of conference realignment is AAU status. KU has been a member for over one-hundred (100) years. Neither Emporia State nor Kansas Agricultural College has ever been invited to join. Following AAU status, the next most important factor is whether your campus is built on a hill and resembles European cities of yore. Then, football revenue also plays a small part of the consideration. So, no, neither you nor ESU get's a spot. SEAT'S TAKEN!

A big barrier to KSU  advancing in academic status is our role as a land grant university tasked with advancing agricultural and engineering education within the state of Kansas, while KU carries no such burden.  It's a structural thing.  While I respect KU's academic status, it's not nearly as impressive as you and fellow KU fans believe, and are completely ignorant of KSU's world wide reputation in agricultural research that affect the future of the planet more than anything KU is doing, including the near independent research at your medical center.  Congrats on your anthropology and related studies, but they are not earth-shaking.

BTW, AAU status is not driving footba!l or conference realignment.

deputy dawg, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I am among the most ridiculous of Kansas State graduates, because my major had nothing to do with Agriculture, or Engineering, or even Business.  I was a Liberal Arts major.  At a Land Grant school.  THAT is a very dumb thing to do.  So, I went to off to grad school elsewhere to study my vocation.

Remember kids, you can do your part, to win the dang day, by making small daily improvements, such as eating more fruits and vegetables, living tobacco free, and taking a daily walk. All these things can all make a great impact on your overall wellness.
