I went to K-State for mechanical engineering. I've also spent significant time on a variety of campuses recruiting interns and full time employees for the companies that I've worked for. Not goEMAW-ing here, KU's college of engineering is by far, the worst I have ever experienced. K-State, Wichita State, Okie State, Missouri-Rolla, Colorado School of Mines... all are graduating students that are head and shoulders above anything KU is producing.
That AAU status isn't doing a damn thing for them and I legitimately feel bad for the students who go there because just about all of them have no clue what they've been robbed of and can't figure out why they're not getting the better internships, full time jobs, or advancement upon graduation.
