Ladies and germs, I have just heard from a highly connected and private source that KU's contemplated move to the big 10 conference is a fait accompli. While this causes me considerable ennui, I must confess I was not surprised to receive this information. After all, KU belongs in a conference of other midwestern flagship universities, and the natural progression of things would seem to place KU into that conference of fellow academic and athletics titans. Now, this may not be made public until Q1 or Q2 of 2022, but the information I have received confirms it is merely a question of "when," and not "if."

Smell ya later, taters. I'll still stick around, if you'll have me. If you won't, I'll respect your wishes. In the latter instance, please know that I'll be quietly rooting for you from afar. It has been the pleasure of a lifetime.

Congrats Spracs.

If KU tries to leave before the end of the GOR, then they'll have to pay tens of millions of dollars to exit.   So looks like a short term uptick in revenue for K-State.

It will also likely mean that KU will spend multiple years not getting a full share of the revenue from the Big 10.

It's good to see the BiG matching the SEC blow by blow.   The SEC brings in two of the most storied football programs in CFB history, and the BiG brings in Kansas and I assume another school TBNL.

So they'll be snagging KU and Wichita State then, right?  Couple of storied basketball programs and you don't have to worry about football programs gobbling up revenue.  It's a genius play.  Wait until they tell that Leipold guy!  LOL

I hope the big 10 doesn't also take our rival Iowa St

Using KU's exit fees to help make Bramlage a better facility than the piss barn would be kind of funny.

I bet ku does pretty good in the big 10. The big 12 schedule is just brutal for ku with no time to recover. The big 10 has a couple other real stinkers and I think our hawks could take advantage of the situation.

Well, crap.  TX and OU leave because of  dog competition in the Big 12.  Now the crappiest program with the disaster waiting to happen stadium leaves, instantly elevating the level of conference play.  Happy for our KU bros, but timing could have been better.

I think they will continue to be the worse than most FCS programs.

Remind me again how they fared in the series with Rutgers?

Welp this is a sorry situation the Squawks will put the Big XII into.  There will be no dunce of football that is a guarantee of a win for every team in the Big XII for the past ten years and surely for the next ten, that is if things fail in the invite.    :driving:

I really just feel sorry for all of the KU fans. They won't be playing anyone that anybody cares about, and it's not like the Big 10 fans are going to travel to Lawrence to see the hill and look at the original rules of basketball.

Multiple Toilet Bowl level weekends on that schedule for KU, no doubt they would prevail and likely be bowl eligible quite regularly in the BiG.   Not much of an SOS builder, but absolutely a bowl trophy case builder in the BiG.

Cornhole fans will be ecstatic, a trip to Lawrence is a real highlight for them.   It's their Kelly's Westport-Iowa State fan kind of ultimate road trip.

So.... who does the Big XII invite then to replace KU since we'll be at 11 after OU, UT, and now KU leave?
