A thread for your risky gastronomical adventures.

In today's installment, I ordered some braised short rib stroganoff on pappardelle noodles (among other items, which I did eat) yesterday around 3 PM. I had planned to eat it later in the day but never got around to it. Ended up leaving it on the counter overnight and didn't discover my error until noon today, when I put it in the fridge. The container itself appears well-sealed and I never opened it. Should I give it a go?

I'd prob throw it out. However, if it doesn't smell bad, nuke it to at least 6000 degrees and give it a go.

I once ate three Chipotle burritos in 37 minutes. Does that go here?

For those of you wondering, the burritos were vetted by coworkers and appropriately filled with a meat, bean, fajita veggies, cheese, multiple salsas, and sour cream. There was no guac because this was post college and none of us had that kind of cash.

The food lets you know that it's not okay to eat by being super stinky. Otherwise, you're good to go.

I leave food out sometimes all day, but I usually put it in the fridge before going to bed. I've heard/read that the safety depends on the type of food. That said, I did give it the ol' sniff test and decided it was fine. Didn't taste overly off, but the texture was a bit off.

Wondering if sys lives in a wooden shack in rural Maine.

One time I made a batch of taco meat and accidentally left half of it sit out in the pan overnight. When I discovered it the following morning I was pissed because it was so tasty and was looking forward to the leftovers, so I went ahead and refrigerated it properly. I figured all the spices and seasonings would act sort of like a preservative and you know what guys? I didn't die or crap myself after eating it so my hunch was right.

i ate 10 mom’s tacos tonight for dinner

also of note, as it relates to short ribs, i went to cactus grill for lunch last week. this is kansas city’s foremost mexican restaurant, a place where real mexicans eat when they’re hungry for a taste of the old country. I ordered a short rib enchilada. VIVA LA’ESPANA!!
