You know there are a lot of these matchups in our future. We’re going to get into the playoffs a fair amount.

Just getting into the playoffs is ok with me. I honestly don't care if we get blown out every time.

But if we keep getting in, we'll eventually catch someone off guard and beat a team that out talents us and it'll be glorious.

Yep, and we will win our fair share of 8/9, 5/12, 6/11 and 7/10 matchups. They will be fun and sometimes home games! Winning a quarterfinal matchup will be out of this world!

Also I just looked it up and apparently the loss of down for illegal touching is only in the NFL what gives?

Still not sure what that call was, does anyone know

They called illegal touching on Cade I believe (if not Cade then whoever the wide out was that caught the ball) bc they said he was covered up on the LoS. And then they tacked on the loss of down but all I can find is loss of down is only in NFL

This was a lot like watching the 2012 cats struggle mightily in their next-to-last conference game gainst an insanely talented/athletic Baylor squad.  Also...much like we could hang with 2 or 3 of the CFP set this year, we could have hung with (or perhaps dominated) Manti Teo and Notre Dame in 2012's NCG.

Yeah, but Bama dominated ND in the NCG.  Anyway...that 2012 loss certainly hurt a lot more but felt similar in terms of running into a talented team perfectly suited to ruin our day.  Amazingly, that Baylor team finished 4-5 in the Big 12.  They played out of their minds.

Baylor became the conference champs the next year.  They also had the dirtiest coach in the FBS who recruited criminal players that were kicked out the schools they came from.

This was an enjoyable game thread to go back and read, no one losing their crap over dumb stuff.

I liked the aggressive play until that onside kick…..

This is exactly what I thought. It was the most telegraphed play OAT, reminded me of that fake punt Snyder 2.0 ran against Oklahoma State from like the OSU 40 yard line. Ultimately the onside kick didn't matter.

We wouldn't have won if he was on but Will picked a real bad day to get the yips and the receivers to revert to their 2020 form, even Sinnott sucked.

Martinez should have gotten more snaps, particularly in the second half.

Could be totally misremembering but I do not remember Malik out there much at all in the 2nd half. I think he was still pretty banged up.

I also think Brent’s could have should have picked off their 3rd or 4th td. Just seemed to lose the ball. Didn’t even make a play on it even though he seemed to read the route correctly.
