President Joe Biden was not aware for days that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was hospitalized, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan ultimately informed Biden late Thursday afternoon, soon after Sullivan himself learned that Austin had been hospitalized, that source said. Austin was admitted to the hospital on New Year’s Day due to complications from an elective surgery.

The Pentagon announced the hospitalization Friday. Austin issued his first statement Saturday, five days after being admitted to the hospital, saying he could have done a “better job” of notifying the public.

Your acting (albeit she didn’t know it for several days) SECDEF explaining that failed audits and missing or unaccounted for (hundreds of) billions in assets is not at all indicative of waste-fraud and abuse.

Meanwhile if your local school system misplaces a single Wi-Fi access point purchased with Federal Erate funds (which every American with a telephone pays for) and the spot auditors find out, the school system risks losing all their Erate funding (unlikely but always a possibility).

A $2 trillion dollar budget deficit in FFY ‘23, and coming out swinging in FFY ‘24 with December deficit spending at $150 billion.

Not enough taxation - nothing to do with out of control spending, tho

Meanwhile Cali looks at a world wide wealth tax for 1% ‘er Californians to make up for a projected (too low) $68 billion dollar budget shortfall this fiscal year.
