It literally is our policy tho

Right?

Strategic ambiguity has been the avowed policy of the United States for years, relative to Taiwan.

This is why White House aides had to roll back the statements, Lick.   Try to keep up here.   The Biden Administration's nominee to be envoy to Taiwan was literally just talking about it several days ago in hearings.

Like when Trump talked to the Taiwanese president following his victory and affirmed our security ties?

just trying to keep up

Thanks Captain Obvious, how many more weapon systems are we going to sell to Taiwan before our "security ties" are confirmed?

Strategic ambiguity deals exclusively with whether the U.S. would come to the direct defense of Taiwan if they're attacked by China.

Again, there's a reason why the White House had to walk back the incredible misinformation machine that is our current POTUS.

Accepting the call from Taiwan also broke 40 years of policy.

I am not convinced that either was accidental.

Our stance towards China has obviously shifted as Xi's policies and intentions have become more apparent.

Thanks again, but none of that changes the fact that our current President, who is showing the classic signs of early stage dementia, had to be clarified and walked back . . . again.

The List:  Alarmingly bad withdrawal from Afghanistan, leaving our European and Afghan partners almost completely in the dark relative to our intentions in Afghanistan, constant mis-speak on foreign policy, wholly unaware of the US-UK-French-Aus situation, a laundry list of misinformation on the vaccine and that's just the tip of the spear.

The best you've got is this weird deflection/whataboutTrump

So you are upset that Joe took a stand against endless war and has taken an assertive stance against China.

interesting

The U.S. has taken an assertive stance against China for a number of years now, Joe losing his place again and forgetting the decades long stance on the actual defense of Taiwan is just #bau.   There are very concise reasons why the U.S. chooses strategic ambiguity and the person Joe nominated to be envoy to Taiwan outlined that very succinctly.

You can take a stance against endless war and not create a complete clusterfuck while you're doing it.

We are reminded once again that Obama-Biden never met a hardcore fundamentalist Islamic theocracy that they didn't want to help come into power.

What's interesting is that you just keep doubling and tripling down on this.

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Gotta rest up those old bones after repeated unilateral revisions of long standing US policy and spewing forth a veritable river of vaccine mis-information.

Let's not forget ushering in (yet another) hardcore Islamic theocracy into power.

Is this where we go with the #blueanon/#blueanonGe staple about the stock market?

Very much appreciate Janet Yellen trying to sell a revenue grab that will cause massive stock market instability.

LOL, since you’ve gone full #blueanon you’ve turned into a total shill for all #blueanon narratives.

Now just admit that if this was going on with  Trump you and the rest of #blueanonGe would be filling another 100 pages in the Trump thread on this very subject.

This administration could have done a lot of crap to keep energy prices low but instead opted to do the exact opposite.  So much so that the dipshit POTUS that you love now just says it’s up to Saudi Arabia.  So much so that Vlad Putin has our security partners in Europe by the balls. (BTW, our Euro partners now have such little trust in the dipshit POTUS that you love they’re talking about an EU Army).
