What would be the problem with paying back student loan debt if you have a regular income?  Like, I understand that it would be difficult to pay back student loans if you can't find a job after college.  But if you do find a steady job it doesn't seem that hard.  It might take a long time but what would be the problem if you're making a regular income?  It took me 13 years to pay mine back on a teachers salary (my first teaching job was in western ks and started at 32K). I guess I'm asking if this is really a problem with the job market and not specifically with student loan debt?

This isn't about "fair" it is about providing a boost to the economy.

The people most likely to spend money are people roughly our age or slightly younger that are getting established or trying to start their "adult" lives and they have a lot of expenses like kids or buying a home, buying cars, etc. and if they have student loan debt they will be more restricted in their spending which can have small or large effects depending upon their situation.  Old people are going to be retired and have a very low propensity to spend.

To circle back to "fair"-- olds had college much more heavily subsidized by the state and tuition cost inflation is a direct result of less government support so this is a payback for that.

There are much better ways of doing this than arbitrarily giving it to people who racked up student debt so just stop

I agree, but there aren't many better ways with a gridlocked senate.  so here we are.  And just to be clear, my wife and I paid for 3 grad degrees out of pocket to avoid loans and the wife just has a small amount of undergrad debt so this isn't some huge windfall for me.

At this point, I'm cheering for Biden to hire Rahm. I want them to lose every black woman voter for ever and ever because they simply can't stop with the cronyism. The fact that he didn't publicly disavow this and fire whomever was responsible for the idea is all I need to know.

On the DOD/State side Joe is quietly re-assembling The Blob.

The mass of apparatchiks who ran around formulating insane interventionist policies during the Obama administration while the media fired slightly damp nerf balls at the administration.

This would include people who helped bolster the SS like "National Guard' in the Ukraine to fight the Russians and protect an extremely corrupt set of regimes of which one fired the prosecutor to protect Biden Family Inc.   Many of same people who helped formulate the insanity in Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen.   Tea Leaves are clearly saying the Erdo will likely be back on the hit list very very quickly.

SMDH, sad.

I’ve always loved war. I just didn’t like it when our military was led by a beta cuck loser. I’ll be much more comfortable with it next year.

So you voted for the guy who worked for an administration that only wiped out defenseless 3rd world countries while simultaneously getting their ass kicked all over the map when it came to Putin and Xi.

Check-got it

Nope.

Just glad to see that BidenVoter's (like you) will accept any and all shitty people as long as they're Democrats.

Sad

It is going to be tough living through Biden's substandard picks after 4 years of only the best people in Trump's administration.  :Rusty:
