What I dislike about cancelling student debt is that it does nothing to address the problem of proliferating costs at colleges that are totally unrelated to providing good education. Whatever the solution is, it should involve something that aims to curb those costs and thus the needless accumulation of debt in the first place.

Also opposed to pouring rocket fuel on our crazy inflation rn.

That won't sway a single person to vote for Trump or Desantis. As if this is the only political position that has factors of billions and trillions. We've spent over $14 Billion in Ukraine in less than 2 months, not even close to being done, and you think this is going to be some tipping point for independents, nah, I don't think so.

Ideally, we wouldn't be forgiving any debt, but I think that ship has sailed. So I would favor forgiveness for people who have low paying jobs that require a degree, like social workers.

What's a "low paying job" is almost wholly dependant upon where you live and who you work for.

Forgiving the loans allows them to build credit and potentially contribute to the economy, anyway. I'd prefer they go through a bankruptcy, but the rules don't allow for that.
