Is increasing our percentage with Canada feasible or are we buying everything they can sell?

Fuel prices after today's announcement.....

I don't think this impacts fuel prices much. We get a small fraction of our oil from Russia. I assume that's what you're referring to.

It is definitely going to impact prices just as all petroleum related news puts a ripple in the markets.  The big question will be how long the price hikes will stick in place.  From my chair, we will see elevated fuel prices until we start boosting domestic production again.  Trying to outguess the markets when you are bidding projects that require several thousand gallons of diesel isn't fun in these times.  Also the construction material market gets really wacky when the price of crude is jumping.

Again, I assume you're talking about the U.S. announcing a ban of Russian oil imports. I fail to see how 90,000 barrels a day moves the needle much.

I guess we will see.  I hope you are right.

We will see some localized fuel price jumps at the very least.  The Russian oil is all going to the west coast probably, right?  So pull 30,000 barrels a day out of say the Seattle area refineries.  Where is the replacement oil coming from?  How long will it take to get there?  How much extra will it cost to get it there?  A 30,000 barrel a day supply deficit will add up pretty quickly.

It will obviously be felt or we wouldn’t have waited to do it. It still seems like a no brainer to me because the cost to the US is not crippling and supporting Ukraine is still hugely popular here.

biden is doing a good job wrt russia/ukraine.

i agree with the posters suggesting a u.s. ban will have little impact on oil/gas prices.  there may be some risk of companies self-sanctioning along with the u.s. leading to a larger effect, but that doesn't seem very likely.

if the e.u. puts in an import ban (or if russia export bans the e.u.), that'd would be a different story, but for that reason, probably unlikely.

Russia:  No help with Iran unless U.S. changes policies.

UAE - Saudi Arabia:  No help on oil unless U.S. changes policies and supports us in Yemen.

I feel like I'm in fantasyland here. Do people really think the five businesses in this country that control that industry will show restraint now, when they literally never have? They have always used any reasoning they could to squeeze every dollar out of the consumer. Prices will continue to increase until demand forces a correction.

Exactly what we are thinking, it's just that no one has been brave enough to say it.  Mainly due to our corrupt government in the pocket of big oil.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

The ongoing crap show that is this administration, now featuring Antony Blinken (again) talking out of every side of is mouth, who together with the NeoCon's NeoCon Victoria Nuland can't even process and handle basic diplomacy with an alleged ally, Poland.

Meanwhile the Pentagon is apparently just straight up laughing at those two clowns,  the Pentagon's spokesperson, the guy who calls everyone a Putin puppet if they don't immediately accept U.S. propaganda as the truth and then parrot it repeatedly, had this to say about the Migs swap:

“It is simply not clear to us that there is substantive rationale for it,” he said in a statement. “We will continue to consult with Poland and our other NATO allies about this issue and the difficult logistical challenges it presents, but we do not believe Poland’s proposal is a tenable one.”

Thank goodness Don Trump didn’t say that, the next assault on the White House would have already begun.

lol, stop it, he said bullshit like this every time. The difference is that when Trump did it, it was headline news, this won't be a blip. The other difference is the libs who know he said this won't make lame ass excuses for him saying it. Maga won't admit anything trump said is racist.

I guarantee you I can find someone on this board justifying
He doesn't have a birth certificate
Mexicans are rapists
Good people on many sides
My African American over there
Go back to their huts
crap hole countries
Very bad Bahamian drug dealers

The good people on many sides one is fantastic example of selective editing.   Read the entire quote . . . for a change.

  #blueanon has and is covering for the mentally incapacitated old man, and has for decades.   Biden is corrupt, he's a racist and he's a war monger and shown that to be the case for nearly 50 years.   Just because he lacks the energy to stand up to some of the #blueanon lunatics in his orbit now, doesn't change the scope of his entire history.
