Oil surges past $110 a barrel as OPEC mushes Joe by only moving to a long ago pre planned output increase.

Jen Psaki will be back on the circuit Sunday explaining why we have to be the next failed energy state after Germany.

Meanwhile despite the sanctions that massive new pipeline from Russia to China will move forward.

Small business workforce is shrinking.  Huge business work force is growing.

Regulation and inflation are the death knell of small business.

Biden’s low economic IQ statement about lowering costs while talking about minimum wage increases.   Goodness.

Small business does not have the buying power and thus cannot hope to influence commodities prices at negotiating table with suppliers.

Couple that with his immigration views.

Congrats again American oligarchs and Mega Corps!

I'm sure there is something important going on there this weekend too?  He also has his ace in the hole going over there next week so he can sleep well knowing the great USofA is in great hands.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Hopefully they don’t ask that empty pantsuit to explain things in layman’s terms.   Unless they want the pre-K response.

If we can't get oil from one dictator, we'll turn to other dictators and theocracies.

Just in time for Jen to tell us there's 9k oil leases not being used while leaving out the part about actual production at those leases, and the infrastructure expense needed to support those leases in light of an anti American energy production administration.

More begging of OPEC, next?

Like I said, with the massive up and down revision (all record revisions) look for more revisions coming up.

Also kind of amazing what happens when you start cutting back on unemployment payouts and companies have been begging for workers for months and months, and you lift the often ridiculous Covid restrictions at the state level.

In other news, record oil prices are often the bleeding edge of a recession.

So now that Lick's usual deflectobotting is over, let's get back to the fact that this crap show is running around the world looking for additional despots to supply us oil.

I don't think this impacts fuel prices much. We get a small fraction of our oil from Russia. I assume that's what you're referring to.

It is definitely going to impact prices just as all petroleum related news puts a ripple in the markets.  The big question will be how long the price hikes will stick in place.  From my chair, we will see elevated fuel prices until we start boosting domestic production again.  Trying to outguess the markets when you are bidding projects that require several thousand gallons of diesel isn't fun in these times.  Also the construction material market gets really wacky when the price of crude is jumping.

Again, I assume you're talking about the U.S. announcing a ban of Russian oil imports. I fail to see how 90,000 barrels a day moves the needle much.
