Just signed up to get Moderna, said it may take up to a month to receive. I like how the British call it a jab. I'm going to use that once I get jabbed.
There are so many cool expressions that the British use. I would adopt more of them but my family and folks in general here in Smallville are very suspicious of foreign - sounding lingo.

I've replaced right away with straight away in my daily life

My grandmother was from England (met my grandfather during WWII, he went over after the war and brought her back to America). She had a pretty significant accent until the day she passed but didn't use a lot of the awesome expressions. Now, when her brothers and sisters would come over, it was amazing and I wish I was old enough to appreciate it at the time (and document more of the terms/phrases they would use)

That's v. cool about your grandma coming from England. Have you been to England to visit cousins? There was an Italian woman in my hometown who had come to the US with her husband after WW2 and I used to mow her yard. Wonderful lady with wonderful accent. One time I broke off a water spigot on the side of her house with my mower and she was really nice about it - refused my offers to pay for the damage.

I have some distant relatives who live in Europe who have pleaded with us to come visit. I promised myself / my wife we will go after the COVID is over.

I'm planning on going at some point, yes. I had some cousins and an aunt make the trip a few years ago and they said the younger extended family really wasn't too welcoming and even refused to take any pictures. Pretty odd.

I don't care that much, cause I want to go either way and communicate with them as well.

This is the beach by my grandma's home town of Seaham.

Also, just got done donating!

That's too bad about the cold reception from the relatives. That beach looks phenomenal.

Honestly not sure where most of the extended family lived/lives.

(yes, I had to google that)

Chipping update: about 30 hrs after the jab I started to get a more intense headache and fatigue but never had any fevers - was able to push thru the afternoon at work. The headache did test my resolve not to take any Tylenol or Motrin. Watched Yamiche on Washington Week with Mrs SSOC and then had a great sleep last night and feel incredibly refreshed and back to 100% this morning (48 hrs after jab). Would not recommend mixing booze with your chip.

Have you started showing symptoms of palsy yet?

Do you mean Bell Palsy? or another type of palsy? No palsy of any sort noted thus far. I will let the board know if I manifest any palsy symptoms.

Just got word from the Red Cross that my AtlasChip is on board. I'm another brick in the wall of herd immunity.

I'll be donating tomorrow, looks like you got your results in 10 days?

Donated Friday, downloaded the app today and it already posted that I was Negative.

Today was the first day my dad felt a lot better. Quite an ordeal but he’s making progress.

Grandpa in law and grandma in law both got it. Gpil is in the hospital. No ventilator, which is good, but unsure the actual outlook. Wife and I sent them a pulse oximeter (thanks Bezos) so they went to hospital when his oxygen dropped.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.
