is this freshman class going to stink long term?
« on: February 25, 2020, 07:50:15 PM »
sorry but i don't see that much with any of the freshmen at the end of year 1. its pretty obvious now why dajuan gordon wasn't recruited much by P5 schools.
the entire group is tweeners in every way. typical KSU recruits.
not really good at any particular skill.
especially shooting
this next class better hit or Weber is going to be in trouble in a couple years

It's about as hard for the KSU basketball coach to get himself fired as it is for the ISU football coach.

if a tree is chopped down in the forest and no one is there to watch it or hear the coach tree complain about the refs, is the tree really hurting?  something to think about spracne.

I think the class looks like Big 12 caliber freshmen, although I was hoping for more.  The team's non-depth has them playing more minutes than they should.  I also think they're victims of no leadership and no intensity from the upperclassmen.

I'm hearing that Gene has oscar on a very short leash. Sometimes, Gene is forced to step in and run practices himself. If things start to go south this season, I could see Gene assuming the head coach position in the postseason much like Barry Alvarez did at Wisconsin. oscar would then take over for Lowery, and so on.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Diarra is locker room cancer, and he's doing a Marcus Foster on Oscar?

i don't see it. Dajuan is not fast or tall; not a great ball handler; not a great shooter; below average defender though only a freshman. the class was ranked near bottom of league. weber needs to blow up the entire roster and start over. if this next years group doesn't show something within 2 years then i'm ready to cut weber. he has shown time and time again he can't sustain anything.
i certainly enjoyed the elite 8 run but that team really wasn't that good. he has a overall losing record B12 since he got to KSU
he has shown zero ability to recruit program changing players which is what every program needs to be competitive

I like Murphy.

Love Gordon's effort but don't see his shot ever developing.  Mechanically, it sucks.

A. Gordon is not a big 12 player.

I would literally blame every other class on this team before I would blame the freshmen.

Oscar has already played that card. Sorry it's time to place the blame on the other side of the equation. Diarra was a key part of the Elite 8 and conference championship team. It isn't his fault Oscar didn't recruit a D-1 big man or shooter for three years after he signed, or seeming doesn't know about the senior transfer rule -- which Diarra will alert him to in a few months.

I was having a conversation just the other day about Big 12 hoops. Both of us are K-State superfans and neither of us knew K-State was in last place. We both just kind of said "huh." and talked about something else.

i'd love to see the class get a little bit better every day, improving a win or two each year until they graduate with their heads held high and their place in kstate history secure.

Then I think that confirms you both are not superfans. More like, "seasonal".
