Why would an article about a dangerous new HIV variant cause this kind of reaction out of #blueanonGe?

As you may recall, early on researchers at Cornell (I believe it was Cornell) were talking about how SARS-Covid-19 had many similarities to HIV.   When the virus was first isolated I posted in here how a Cornell researcher said they had never seen anything like it.

I don't what that has to do with TexAgs, but #blueanonGe weirdos are gonna #blueanonGe weirdo I suppose.

I don't know enough about the science, I just hope that two don't meet up to create a super virus.

Not if you're part of the #blueanon power elite.   Masks always optional.

basically . . . except for places where they are mandated, like LA for example, and in many public schools.

Could make for a good movie and/or and awesomely bad movie.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Even if you visit LA, do the mask rules really affect you? I guess Disneyland probably requires a mask and if you aren't vaxxed your client might ditch you for dinner, but like if you're eating or drinking or outside you're not wearing a mask so what's the big deal.

And to sys's point, why even have one at this point if it's only a few places? I think it CAN help on transportation, tight indoor workplaces, and schools, but not sure if there's good data at what levels of transmission they can be effective if nothing else is done.

That wasn’t ever the point.  #blueanonGe leaders have mandated rules that they show again and again that they are not willing to comply with themselves.

In addition, relative to Omicron, run of the mill masks are worthless and n95 masks on bearded faces, poorly sealed or past their useful life (which can be quite short in certain environments) are not very effective either.

The new "masks are worthless" narrative is strange to me because the numbers overall were so much worse post-vaccine in 2021. That would lead me to believe that the widespread mask use in 2020 probably prevented a lot of deaths. Granted, nearly 100% of the deaths since around spring 2021 are anti-vax weirdos, but if a new variant starts killing the vaccinated, I would hope that mask mandates return.

masks aren't worthless, they mitigate.

It's like saying a bike helmet didn't prevent you from getting a head injury or the flu shot didn't prevent the flu or vax didn't prevent covid.
