How many people do you think have not been vaccinated and have somehow managed to bot get covid?  Seems like it should be a relatively small number at this point.
Feels like Delta is remorselessly finding the last of the stragglers where I live. Not sure there will be anything left for Omicron besides topping off IgA immunity in the previously vaxxed / recovered.

i took an at home rapid last week because i was exposed and had a wedding to go to over the weekend.  felt fine but felt like it made sense to test for some peace of mind.

Yeah there's a good chance you can pass it to an unvaxxed old person at a Midwestern wedding. But also, they are making that choice at this point, so whatever. I'm almost more worried about kids having to miss school.

Everyone that wants to be boosted and vaxxed can be and now a positive case is mostly an inconvenience for 99% of those folks that did. I'll keep masking while case counts are high because I still don't want to get it or spread it but also I don't want any other respiratory disease.

What do you think is the percentage of people that are not vaxxed for which a positive case is mostly an inconvenience?

I don't really care because they don't care and they can't make the hospital capacity worse than 2020

Is hospital capacity essentially the only thing you worry about?

If hospitals were somehow getting strained in a way similar to 2020, what would you advocate be done?

Maybe instead we should talk about healthy eating and exercise? IDK just going off of CNN who yesterday said fat people have a tougher time with it.

Right now, that's pretty much it. But I'm not worried about it. Earlier in the pandemic I was worried about hospital capacity and lots of people dying. Most people dying of covid these days are choosing to not do the number 1 thing to prevent dying of covid so I don't really give a crap about them.

If hospitals were somehow getting strained in a way similar to 2020, what would you advocate be done?

Vaccine requirements for air travel and other things. Make it a pain in the ass to be unvaxxed. Might not be a bad idea anyway but I'm not too worried about it.

I saw a research article that something like 61% of kids that are hospitalized with COVID are obese.

Talk about that instead of what?

I have an idea though. What if we get Michelle Obama to promote healthy school lunches? How do you think that would work out? (heh)

How would boosters play into the vaccine requirements?

It’s a non starter so no need to even discuss it.  If you got a vaccine it will keep you out of the hospital at an extraordinarily high rate.

That was an excellent idea by her they should also mandate more recess and PE time.

Yeah, being obese doesn't help anything. Of course, more than 90% of kids in the hospital are unvaccinated, so maybe start there since it's a lot faster and easier than losing weight?

yeah exactly. but mandating boosters wouldn't be any more difficult than mandating the original dose if it comes to that.

Obesity is definitely a big problem and could help people out beyond just avoiding Covid.  It's also something that's harder and takes longer to solve than getting vaxxed.

I don't know, people usually respond well to someone (especially authority figures) telling them they are fat and need a better diet. Especially those that haven't been vaccinated. Joe Biden should hold a national address telling people to work out more.

I’ve also heard from conservatives that suicide rates are a big problem, so I’d additionally propose to place more regulations on guns since they’re one of the most common causes of suicide.
