Our President told us that if we got vaccinated we would not get Covid.

Now we have the most vaccinated place in the world with and eye popping rate of breakthrough cases based on total daily infections.

Relative to the rest of the EU, the most vaccinated place on earth is awash in the Rona.

It’s eye popping in the sense that there almost no unvaxxed people in the country and yet those people still somehow make up the majority of the infections.

Before I "do the research, bro" does anybody remember seeing data for how long immunity typically lasts after having covid? I remember people thinking this could be dwindling to a dull roar after New Years, but now I'm seeing the numbers go back up again. Are there fears that this could blow up again, like it did last year if the waning vaxxed and previously positive start getting it again? FML

yeah, that's why the boosts for all is important. there are a lot more hospitalized now who've either been vaxxed or had covid already.

A year ago, I was still in isolation after testing positive. I had a pud case. Mrs SSOC just got her sense of taste back to 100% normal after one year. The flavor of Doritos and pamplemousse LaCroix remained jumbled for her until a few weeks ago.

one of my employees has her second round of it right now. she's not like in the hospital but has felt like crap for a week.

For 6 months or so at least. I’m due in January for booster shot.  Thought I was done w covid for good. Son got it and the three vaccinated adults in the house managed to avoid getting it.

Sucks to think this could be a yearly deal. But it is what it is.

Not eradicated but it’s indistinguishable from the cold I think. And then it just weakens itself more through time.

Yes it will probably be a weird transition period between tracking COVID cases constantly even though it’s no longer more threatening than any other coronavirus.

it was kinda weird because the shot-giving person asked like three times if we understood that it was just a sad little half dose.  i wonder if there are people that big time their way into a full dose booster.

my person asked me like 5 times to confirm I wanted moderna even though I got pfizer rounds 1 and 2. like she really made it seem like it was bizzare.

They have to do that at this time at places that have the same as your first two available.  If you were in some spot with access only to the one you didn't get before, they'd it to you no questions asked.

I did CVS and the location I found on the web had only moderna listed that's why I chose it.  I assumed they'd just chip me with the only chips they had
