Cloth masks which almost every school kid wears doesnt really help.. even if all the whities at the school are vaccinated they can still spread it. Why is this so confusing for some of you?

gottlieb doing his talking a billion miles an hour thing right now and some stuff that has me horned from it:

- In Sep the Gov will have research data showing doses of Moderna/Pfizer (maybe other non MRNA types?) can be mixed and matched at will and it is actually good
- Also in Sep the Gov will have data showing the positive performance of the lower dose Moderna booster (50 mcg?)
- 8 months for the booster was no magic number but it works because they anticipate the above and it's also before the hard winter. 6, 8, etc. months doesn't really matter in his opinion. Booster should be very, very beneficial for everyone.
- Data showing the small window between the first two doses may have kept some of the immune response down. ie. Pfizer could have gotten a bigger immune response at 21 days instead of 14. Lesson learned there.

Again.. I don’t mind wearing a mask but if you think a cloth mask is doing much of anything for you that’d be incorrect. Be a lot better if their was some middle ground and not crazies of you on both ends ITT

I read that while a booster would probably provide some benefit it will actually hurt in the worldwide fight against the pandemic because it will be taking 10's of millions of doses away from people around the world struggling to gain access to the vaccine.  Truth or not truth?

I’ve gone on record saying the boosters would likely be more effective elsewhere, but either way this thing is going to have to just burn though the globe. It’s not clearly the wrong choice to make sure Americans aren’t dying from a disease before we focus on other countries.

letting it burn during the first pages of this thread would have been an insane disaster (and probably wouldn't have worked because people would have stayed home on their own or business would have had them stay home). the path we're on now is pretty manageable, especially in areas with high vax rates.
