I've seen enough breakthrough cases that I'll mask indoors when not eating or drinking while case rates stay high. But I don't think it will stop me from doing anything I want.

I got two doses Pfizer in April, mostly stay home and avoid indoor crowds. Got the Delta breakthrough last week. Feel like crap. I hadn't been masking lately at the grocery or hardware store, etc. I do wonder if the mask would have helped, and I worry I infected others before I was symptomatic. Masking is easy, and I got too complacent.

Certainly it will be paid off by the time I get SS.  Although at the rate covid is burning through the dry/obese maga wood I might defer until then.  I have adequate retirement savings to have no need for SS.

Sadly, our president told us all that if we were fully vax'd it would be "impossible" to get Covid.  Our CDC director told us fully vax'd folks we could take off the masks and didn't have to worry anymore.

You were simply going by what a key member of the Biden Covid Super Team said, so no worries.

Again, hopefully it passes soon.

Not really blaming, just noting that you paid attention.   You got vax'd, you were told you didn't need a mask and you were told you couldn't get the virus once you were fully vax'd.   

The moral of the story:  Pandemics are hard

dax, can you explain what you are doing itt? you say you are pro-vax but then post every stupid right wing thing about vaccines not being the absolute 100% fool proof cure in this and other countries. what's the play there? it's 100% confirmed they are the answer to us getting out of this and I know you agree with that, or do you? is it just politics because "your side" is anti vax?

one shot is considerably less protective than two and even two doesn't completely prevent infection.  and last i saw two shot % was around 50% (all ages).

iirc, the r0 value for delta is thought to be like 6-8, something like that.  which would put herd immunity at like 85% or so.  so, basically never (unless we get more effective vaccines).

What trim is really trying to say is that black people in his mind don’t really matter. In essence for trim they’re utterly inconsequential and thus they don’t need to be held to the same expectations that CoronaBro #blueanon has for white people.  If black people die, that’s nothing to trim, he’s still going to rail on whitey.
