Can't read it.

The EUCDC said last summer that air exchange was paramount to preventing indoor virus transmission.

When Mrs. Dax was in the MICU last fall, the Covid unit was right next door.   Staff worked in non N-95/Low intensity PPE in the common areas of the Covid unit precisely because of the rate of air exchange in that area.  Only putting on intensive PPE when entering the patient areas.

So, they wore masks everywhere inside.
Again, if you need to believe that a piece of cloth is going to protect you from the Rona in an indoor environment and that ventilation is not and should not be the top priority.  Go ahead and believe that.   We always enjoy stupid people.

What is your obsession with masks?  They’re a very easy mitigation measure to implement.

Obsession?

They're simply not going to be effective in environments with poor ventilation.

Simple people like Slow Dug think this is anti-mask and is intellectually incapable of putting to the two components together.  A non N-95 grade cloth is worthless in a low ventilation environment.

Link?

Also, how is your average member of the public going to know how ventilated the place is?  I am assuming most casual dining and stores are low ventilation.  If you take your unsupported theory to its logical end you are arguing for no masks in low ventilation establishments because the don't work (at least you abandoned the 'masks actually make it worse' dipshit talking point) and LOL that crap ain't happening.  Businesses are going keep the mask mandate until we have numbers absurdly low

MIT professors said cloth masks are more effective than indoor ventilation and they were a valid source yesterday or so. Wonder what changed

Of course they're going to say that.

What it really shows is that establishments capable of opening up their indoor settings to substantial outdoor ventilation should have been allowed to open up months ago across the country.    Establishments with good air exchange systems should have been allowed to open up with nominal restrictions months ago.

Non N-95 masks only slow down particles, they don't eliminate them, in fact they only slightly dissipate large particles, virtually worthless stopping smaller particles.   Good air exchange pulls the particles out of the environment almost entirely or dissipates the viral load below infective thresholds.

Not in spaces with good air exchange.   I guess when walking in or out.

Masks aren't important once you have vaccinated yourself into immunity. I wear one when expected to but I wouldn't be nervous at all to be in a crowded, poorly ventilated, mask-free room.

I think it is another tool in the belt to wipe it out.  I don't wear outdoors except at kids games where they still require.  I wear indoors when standing or moving.

I'll let the ASHRAEcats chime in but it sounds like if your office isn't a chemical lab or an ICU it probably isn't all that great.

As a society we won't vaccinate ourselves into immunity. Might get close in some places when we open it to kids though.

As an individual, you can vaccinate yourself close enough to immunity to not need to be worried, though.

I'm not worried about me but I'm cognizant of catching it and passing it to my unvaxxed kids. I think we'll learn and adjust recommendations as we go (the outdoor mask guidance is a good first step).

I'll feel this way the nanosecond children under the age of 16 are cleared to receive the vaccine.

Don’t know but the NAZIrene church is going balls to the wall and the Catholic schools already sent letters home saying masks won’t be required

Prediction:  maga talking point shifts to "by lifting the mask mandate and opening they are admitting they were wrong!"

Is it moronic?  big time.  but a few magas I know are cautiously floating it around some of the dumber other ones to focus group it.
