CoronaBro Meltdown/SARS-Covid-19 Spitballing Thread
« Reply #14750 on: March 19, 2021, 11:41:28 AM »
It’s sad when states have to open the floodgates knowing it’s the only way to get over like 20% of their population vaxxed, but also nice for those who can be medical tourists ensuing supply doesn’t go to waste and more people in your own community can get their jabs sooner.

They’re having some kind of “all vaccines must go” event next Saturday on the reservation where I just got mine.

pretty cool how the states with the strictest lockdowns also have the longest waits for vaccines while Iowa just opens crap up pronto

There is zero availability here and seeing this thread is like wtf.

Pretty amazing that these Pharma companies were able to hit the production numbers they said they would 4 to 6 months ago.

The Phil's of the world will take a victory lap, while failing to remember his complete, total and  meltdown about the inability of Big Pharma to produce vaccines at rate that fit his personal and politically hyper partisan dogmatic agenda.

I really wonder if the US just contracted directly with like Walmart and CVS how much more effective distribution would have been. Maybe just grass is greener type thinking, but you have to imagine they’re better equipped than most to understand and meet demand on both a big and small scale.

It's not efficient to scrutinize who gets the shot first. People here are mostly just pretending to do that. Also, I'm sure a much greater percentage of the population of states like California actually want the vaccine.

I think that's a big part of it - overall rates by state are pretty comparable. I'm probably more annoyed with wealthy Californians who can work from home getting it while teachers are still struggling to get appointments. My county's highest vax rate is in the whitest richest town (and it's over 50% there).

Kicked my but with chills and aches from +12 to about +30hrs, but woke up Thursday feeling fine. Had the 'Rona in December, so it was reassuring to see the immune response.

Yeah, we are racing through the tiers so quickly because I'm sure we need to have broader tiers to make sure the demand is keeping up with the supply so that the supply doesn't get cut. For the first couple of months of vaccine distribution we were dead last in supply provided from the government. We got more and the best way to get it used is to not rely solely on a very old, very rural population to adequately jabbed.

Parents also had it and also got big responses. Their MD said that is what they were seeing. If you hadn’t previously had it the second shot did it.

yeah. and California has jabbed 23% of the pop vs 24% for Iowa. I'm guessing before long Iowa will get fewer allocated and more will come to California so I'm not very stressed about it

my anecdote is that medical professionals love sharing anecdotes about which jab and which vaccine leads to reactions

I was actually self monitoring my reaction for this very reason. Current status suggests I have not previously had COVID.

Your guy is unloading all kinds of rhetoric on China.  But you wouldn’t know that, and if you think that graph is because of the trade war you’re dumber than I thought.

You were on a constant rant of doing better.  From testing kit production to vaccines.

It was of course all grounded in hyper partisanship.

Is death rate the % who die after getting COVID? Why should containing spread even have an effect on that number?

Or is it the total % of the population that was killed by Covid?

I predict you'll get a random rash / itch at injection site 7 days after your shot.  Everybody I know who got $MRNA has got one.

By the way, everybody getting a shot sign up for the CDC vsafe thing.
