yeah, i don't know that it's all that bad.  there was a really long thread on immune systems and vaccines (by @florian_krammer) that i posted a while back that talked about this.  normal.

Yeah I thought this was already known. Antibodies will fade but t-cells and b-cells retain the memory to fight this when it comes back.

What a hard luck president.  All his hard work on the virus will make it disappear the day after he loses. We should build him a statue of liberty sized monument when this happens.  I suggest a YMCA dance pose.

Read Joe’s plan.  Not a lot of meat there from a guy who claims he’s going to defeat the virus.  It all sounds pretty familiar outside of the claim he’ll possibly shut down the country.  Which would be an unmitigated economic disaster that will be felt for decades. Much of Joe’s big plan now runs counter to recent studies regarding schools (and lockdowns).

In other news.  Core EU countries pile on another 110k new Covid-19 cases.

EU countries looking to expand test sourcing as supplies run low.

European countries, all in and all over it to the tune of hundreds of thousands of new cases every day.

Terrible job with Rona Sweden still running at  10% the new daily case count as similarly sized Belgium.

Population density of Brussels is a substantial contributing factor and the answer of course.  Is to lock everyone inside.

country by country data on what restrictions were put in place, relaxed, reinstated would be interesting.  I haven't found a comprehensive list.

edit Here is a good Europe list from June when they were all easing any restrictions in place

Right off the bat that seems inaccurate because Sweden definitely closed schools and limited gatherings to 50 people max (very similarly to Finland listed and restrictions that are still in place).

Part of me wonders if Sweden was helped by having way fewer people travel there over the summer.

that said, assuming the rest are accurate, it seems pretty clear that lockdowns really only help for crazy spikes, which is what Belgium and others saw early on but Sweden never really did. Then Western Europe opened up waaaay too much and Sweden kept way more restrictions with the 50 person gathering. I mean the Czech Republic was allowing 100 person indoor gatherings in May, Austria was allowing 200 person gatherings, etc.

Spain RIGHT NOW is allowing 50% capacity indoor theaters which would allow for way more than 50 people

North Dakota going hard after that herd immunity

Quote
Five percent of all North Dakotans have now tested positive for the virus, the highest rate of any state.

Quote
Dr. Deborah L. Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator, visited North Dakota on Monday and warned that “there’s a whole other set of cases underneath those cases, of asymptomatic young people who are still getting together, or even 40-, 50- and 60-year-olds who I saw throughout Bismarck not wearing masks and not physically distancing yet being indoors.”

I don't know how long the swedes go to school but if I had to classify schools open/closed based on that I'd say they kept schools open.

If there’s one thing drug industry needs in order to figure out how to make money and that’s billions of dollars from the Federal Gov’t.   Very capital//cash strapped industry pharmaceuticals.

Nothing groundbreaking but since the "we are just testing more" train continue to have MAGA power, info still necessary

It's amusing that Sweden and the magas who now apparently worship sweden want everyone to believe they went totally badass herd immunity wide open when they absolutely did not.

never thought I'd see you grab your ankles for a scandanavian country with tax funded healthcare but there you are.  completely subservient to the swedes
