9/11/2020 (coincidence noted) Today is a Federal control all day for Phil Titola (Subject to revert back to state's rights on a whim depending on the topic)
Dax, are you anti nationwide mask mandate?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, but I also recognize our system of governance in these United States.    I also enjoy pointing out the constant vacillation between demanding Federal control and then melting down when the Federal government asserts control.

1st World AL has been under a mandatory mask mandate for well over a month.   It was extremely difficult.   The governor signed a paper.

I do think it's important to note that early action is very high leverage if it can be sustained (I think right now a lot of conservatives believe that countries like NZ, Australia, Germany, South Korea, Japan, Belgium ect are inevitably going to fail and regress to the "mean" ie US levels, I don't think that's a given). Even if they do...if a vaccine comes about this winter, well that time not being at US levels for a sustained period of time is certainly appealing if you value life or long term health consequences. I also don't think it's a given that Sweden won't have a second wave if their behavior changes.

yeah I agree with all of that. And things will change as Europe gets cold again.

Agreed they bought themselves the time for science to catch up.  We didn't.

Has science actually caught up? The only people I know who have tested positive have basically been told to stay home, drink water, and get rest.

I think the treatments for severe cases are much more effective/advanced. Hopefully anyway.

Well therapy for serious conditions is for sure better than April. Closer to a vaccine. More therapies are close. We know better how it spreads.

This thing burns out by mid November unless we find a way to revive a virus into a third bell curve of death.

If November is your time frame the virus will be highly dependent on the election results.

Death (corrected) curves are lining up with two bells like most pandemics. Second curve looks to finish around 10/15 to 11/1.

Excess deaths (delay corrected) have hit the curves. Unless we find a way to jump start this thing, I don't know why it should behave differently. Yes, it seems insane unless you just look at the beautiful data set on the curves.

CDC provides the data sets. Falls right in line with Alex's "prediction" curve he started in April/May. Then the summer uptick happened. Plotting right along a smaller bell. Fizzle dizzle just in time for the election.

What if the spring wave was actually the second wave? That sure would resemble the 1918 pandemic curves.

Be nice if the rest of the country could get the level of testing the NE has gotten per capita. We could all be controlling this a lot better

In all seriousness, I sincerely hope we only see two waves but I'm just an HVAC dork. I can only speculate based on the data that others plot. Curves sure look promising.

curves are one thing but the reality of what's going on in places like Spain is another
