Phil, only a complete mushed brained dolt doesn't believe that there isn't significant factions of Useful Idiot Leadership and apparatchiks who aren't cheering for the virus and for economic malaise going into the election.

In regards to your posting, about 98% of it is #fearporn drama queen meltdowns and/or extolling the work of the wonk state as actually accomplishing something significant.

Another thread looking at transmission that summarizes a lot of what's been discussed.  Seems like airflow is a big deal.

It seems like length of more direct exposure is even bigger.  So many of those examples people are tight together, tighter than we are spacing restaurant tables here as mitigation and we know most places in the US have better ventilation than many of those examples.  We are pinning a lot of assumptions of 4M cases on that one restaurant example.  If it was such an easy place to catch it, we'd have more by now I'd think.  Seems most of what we have is family living situations.

Definitely don't want to be in a tight non-ventilated space for a bit while this continues to shake out.

This is you confusing posters again, you can't find a fear porn drama queen meltdown in my post history in the past month.  I'm on the positivity what we are doing is working and better treatments are coming train Dax. Some are bad days, I get it.  It's okay.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/san-diego-county-supervisor-says-six-of-194-confirmed-deaths-are-pure-solely-coronavirus-deaths

Quote
The supervisor of San Diego County, California, is pushing back against Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order, arguing that only six of the county’s 194 recorded coronavirus deaths are “pure, solely coronavirus deaths.”

“We’ve unfortunately had six pure, solely coronavirus deaths — six out of 3.3 million people,” San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond said in an interview this week, according to the San Diego Tribune. “I mean, what number are we trying to get to with those odds? I mean, it’s incredible. We want to be safe, and we can do it, but unfortunately, it’s more about control than getting the economy going again and keeping people safe.”

Let's out them!

You, a high risk, doddering coot who is considering taking up vaping and drank a small amount of bleach a few weeks ago "just in case"  Me, your young zero risk stud who has used the quarantine to lean down his already ripped physique and perfect whipped coffee.

Like the emperor and Anakin Skywalker (I am running out of famous examples for super old grossers and young studs so cut me some slack) we will rule the universe of people hoping that a therapeutic isn't located.

ACLU chiming in here on contact tracing info requirements.

https://www.aclu-wa.org/sites/default/files/media-documents/aclu-wa_letter_on_customer_log_requirements_-_covid-19_-_f.pdf

I think that's all pretty reasonable and important and they highlighted some great points and I agree with most of it. I really only questioned this:

Quote
Additionally, compulsory customer logging without strict policies to protect privacy and civil liberties may lead to law enforcement becoming involved in implementation of these requirements. This is of concern because public health experts have cautioned that a punitive approach to combating disease is less effective than relying on voluntary measures

their citation was a link to an ACLU publication:

https://www.aclu.org/sites/default/files/pdfs/privacy/pemic_report.pdf

I haven't read the whole thing but they had some dubious points and there was no citation for this:

Quote
The problems with current plans include:
• A reliance on coercion. Although most of the verbiage in these plans is vapid and virtually
without content, and based on assumptions that will inevitably turn out to be mistaken,
the one commonality they all possess is reliance on coercive actions such as quarantine
and forced treatment. This is despite the fact that such measures are generally
acknowledged by experts to be either completely ineffective or only potentially marginally
effective in the case of flu

and this:

Quote
All of this emphasis on containment and quarantine during a flu pandemic is particularly
disturbing given the almost complete lack of success of any quarantines anywhere in
the world for pandemic flu (the one exception: the island of American Samoa during the
1918 pandemic).

huh???
