These no-crap declarations should be coupled with what the action plan is - who's doing what to achieve those goals.

those cases have not yet been added to any of the databases, but apparently they're coming.  it's gonna eff up my polls when they hit.  gonna have to decide how to handle that.

23526 new cases and 2214 new deaths in the United States

New York City today has reported 3,778 additional deaths that have occurred since March 11 and have been classified as "probable," defined as follows: “decedent [...] had no known positive laboratory test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) but the death certificate lists as a cause of death “COVID-19” or an equivalent" [source]. We will add these to the New York State total as soon as it is determined whether the historical distribution can be obtained

Qqqkie, you believe this virus was made in a chinese lab? As a bioweapon?

Could maaaaayybee be a possibility, I suppose.

https://twitter.com/TruthHammer888/status/1250183122471149568?s=20

https://www.foxnews.com/world/state-department-cables-coronavirus-origin-chinese-lab-bats

Quote
The United Kingdom has said that the idea that the virus, which has turned into a full-blown global pandemic, was leaked from a Wuhan lab is "no longer being discounted."

A member of the U.K. government's emergency committee of senior officials claimed Sunday: "There is a credible alternative view (to the zoonotic theory) based on the nature of the virus. Perhaps it is no coincidence that there is a laboratory in Wuhan."

Foreign affairs expert Gordon Chang said in a recent opinion piece on Fox News that "many Chinese believe the virus either was deliberately released or accidentally escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a P4-level bio-safety facility."

To be fair, US officials were still denying this as a possibility last week per the article, however I expect that position to change when appropriate to let the truth out.

Even if the virus did come from a lab, it doesn't necessarily mean that it was developed as a bioweapon.

It really doesn't make any sense. All 6 of those are hard to achieve but then he says it will be like a dimmer turning things on. Does the dimmer not move until they achieve those 6 things?

And declaring now no crowds over 100 without a vaccine is just bluster and makes no sense to state that now.

I read that as, a social distancing plan for a school will determine when it can reopen. Regional hospital surge capacity will determine when a region can reopen and how. Contract tracing ability and availability of therapudics will impact everything, etc.

If he truly thinks no groups of 100 before a vaccine he might as well shutter every hotel now. Hospitality industry overall really.

Hotels would honestly still be ok, at least functionally. Not sure how air travel would work though

i read the dimmer analogy as being that you could increase the brightness a little as some conditions are partially fulfilled, but it doesn't get to full brightness until all of them are.

Yeah.  So now for example, are school districts to be working right now on retrofitting the school buildings to accommodate?  Should available buildings be getting transformed into temporary hospitals?  Would those be state-operated?  Are there representatives of different interests negotiating out a plan to implement contact tracing with privacy rights retained, etc.?

All the generic statements without accompanying plans and explanations annoy me.

middle of a global pandemic is about the optimal time to cut funding to health organizations focused on the world, imo.

Yeah. Really, this should have been done weeks ago. But it's more of a developed plan than we've seen from anywhere else as far as I can tell.

not sure there were gonna be a lot of conventions getting booked regardless of state limits on crowds.

Trump pulling funding from the WHO because it’s somebody else’s fault. It’s not like there is anything going on anyways.
