Ya I think this is the case all over the world. It’s been reported that Italy isn’t bothering to test the gobs of old ppl dying outside of their hospitals. I believe it’s the same with France/Spain

If I had any hope that this was part of a well-executed strategy for nationwide distribution at the federal level to eliminate price gouging and make sure the equipment is distributed according to need, it wouldn't be a bad idea. But more than likely this is to make sure the federal team has THEIR stockpile and it's not for those dumb loser states who suck at planning.

side note: if you want to piss my wife off, improperly wear an N95 in public. we went to a grocery store in SF yesterday and like half of the N95's were worn by dudes with beards. (and really you shouldn't wear an N95if you aren't a health care professional working with sick people)

Would hospitals accept already opened N95 masks? I think the shaming of people wearing those in public has gotten out of control. Like I’m sure tons of people have them and aren’t wearing them in public which is kinda crazy.

They might accept open unworn masks. There's been work done to sterilize them.

I don't think the shaming of wearing N95s in public has done much considering how many I see every time I go to the grocery store. If anything there's not enough shaming (at least here). But we also have a shitload of wealthy entitled people who don't believe guidelines apply to them, at least compared to other places I've loved.

I will continue to judge the crap out of someone improperly wearing N95's. Might as well put them directly in the trash. It isn't about how protected you feel, it's about what actually works and who needs what.

At least until my wife no longer has to ration them at the ICU. Then, fine, yeah, go crazy.
