Sent all our people home to work remotely and staying away from my gym (full of 20 year olds) and restaurants. If need to go back to the grocery will try and do so on off hours or do delivery services.

I may go absolutely insane but feel like it's the right course of action.  Probably go fo a run outside to try and keep myself a little bit sane.

this isn't a partisan issue

anyone not taking responsible precautions threatens all of us

everyone should educate themselves as to what is taking place in the world and have a duty to share that info with those they love

i hope all of you take appropriate steps to take care of yourselves, your families, and your communities

at the same time it is kind of a partisan issue because people either won't educate themselves or are willfully ignorant and we need the government to shut crap down. We can't assume people will do what's best for the community, which is what we need to avoid five million americans dying from this over the next year

Interesting, that the mayor was on tv this morning saying Westport was too crowded last night and people need to stay home.  Made an example of an Uber driver friend who said it was as busy as ever.

He is doing a pretty impressive job of talking out of both sides right now.

it seems like all state and local politicians are afraid to take decisive action because they don't want to be seen as the ones putting putting small businesses out of business. Which IMO is why the federal govt needs to act to both shut down non-necessary businesses but also provide things like a nationwide moratorium on things like credit defaults, evictions, and utility shutoffs but also provide funds to low wage workers to ensure they can continue to eat.

And people need to stop freaking out about this. Get a grip. Keep perspective. Lay off twitter for a while.

I think there are some legitimate arguments to keeping schools open, including that they provide food and childcare for those who otherwise cannot afford it.  These concerns can certainly be addressed by state and federal leadership, though.  As for your advice to stop freaking out, I'm curious what kind of examples you have in mind.

To an extent, absolutely. The long-term economic ramifications of over-reaction will likely be far more devastating than the virus itself. If you’re sick, stay home. If you aren’t, practice clean habits. I’m not saying you need to go to cesspools like buffets, but you can keep going to restaurants and stores. This isn’t that hard. Use common sense. It’s the same way you stay healthy in general over the winter.

For real, people need to get a grip.
