I thought it was understood that this was never going to end a long time ago.

Which is why non CoronaBro experts kept and keep saying that the constant attempts to intercede only prolongs the worst of it.

Personally I’d like to hear Dax out on this one. What is the data telling you about vaccines?
I’m just noticing the increase in breakthrough cases.

Again, now we know why vaccine was redefined by the CDC.

Why?
Immunity was flipped to protection.

They of course explained it away.  Yet other vaccines have either eradicated diseases entirely or rendered 95% plus of the recipients wholly immune from ever getting the disease.

This isn’t an anti-vax statement either.  So don’t even bother with that bullshit

You didn't answer the question
Because they knew they had a prophylactic and not a vaccine as most people understood vaccines.

You honestly think mitigations done in 2020 did not help society?  That is your claim here?

It’s debatable.

But you’re a huge CoronaBro who spent over a year in a complete state of total meltdown.

what lockdowns and restrictions (besides masks) have existed in the US in 2021?

Kids in many districts are forced into 10 day quarantines when 1 kid they played with at recess tests positive. KCPS is doing this. Also- many districts were still virtual or hybrid at the end of May 2021

The first measure will be around for a long time.

I’d say most of the covid-related gov interventions have been net negligible at best.

I suppose on the 2nd one, tiny little baby Dax had the helping hand of a loving-caring mother.    I'll ask her if Democratic governors were shutting down business causing thousands upon thousands of business failures with millions upon millions of people out of work.   Causing untold economic and social-welfare strife that will likely be felt for years to come.

The initial lockdowns absolutely had a huge impact in keeping fatalities down. We needed to get to the vax finish line.

I think it would be hard to quantify, and I certainly couldn’t do it on my own. You’d have to take all the pros vs all the cons and categorize by intervention level, population density, local climate etc.

I think 99.5% of reasonable people agree with this.  Then there are the Daxs

These quacks filed a lawsuit after the FDA refused to diclose the Pfizer documentation and records of interactions with Pfizer during the Pfizer vaccine approval process.

The FDA has asked for 76 years to release all the documents.

Dax, this sounds a lot like you are not trusting the Trump led FDA for approving the Pfizer vaccine under his watch.  This will get you 25 Trump demerits.

US 7-day rolling average up to 85K (from 71K around 11/1).

Hospitalizations in KS are pretty flat. https://www.kha-net.org/DataProductsandServices/STAT/Dashboard/

It's never going to end, folks!

Nope.
I hope you are right, nicname! It FEELS like it is never going to end.

It’s not going to end, it will just be normalized that X amount of people every year die from it.   The avian FLU is coming for us anyway.

My apologies. I wasn’t clear. Nope, it’s not going to end. People will always get and die from covid; hospitalizations and deaths almost entirely among the very fat, very old and generally unhealthy, especially if not vaccinated.
Outside of work, most of life went back to pre-pandemic status for me back in May. Since I work in healthcare, COVID still feels like an all day, everyday thing with no end in sight. The org I work for has been really crunched for staff since last fall and it things appear set to get worse as there are a significant group of staff who are prepared to walk off the job rather than get vaccinated making work even more difficult for the staff who are left or possibly making it impossible to staff certain areas. Not gE'ing here. I just want this crap to be over so bad.

Yes you would also need to think logically about how disease spreads and what happened in places like NYC before and after interventions and who has time for that

A 99% vaccination rate and on least on one day, 1/3 of the new cases of Covid infection are apparently fully vaccinated people/break through cases.

#blueanonGe lead by Steve Dave and the other usual suspects want to immediately shift into per capita discussion and similar to avoid addressing a 33% breakthrough infection rate.

LOL #onbrand
