we just had a conversation at work today about which of our coworkers were vaccinated. we came up with seven confirmed unvaccinated and two probably, but not confirmed.

if i had to guess each of their politics (some i have a pretty good idea, others not), i'd say four dem, five 'pubs (two libertarianish, three magaish, but none that are like red hat and thin blue line maga).

9 of 10 people now hospitalized for Coronavirus weren't vaccinated. This affects you and me. That means if you have to take your kid to the ER you're going to end up waiting a long time. It means people are being forced to leave the hospital earlier than usual to make room for people who refused the vaccine, and it has had deadly consequences. The unvaccinated are hurting people because of politics or Facebook or for whatever reason, but they're the primary reason we're in this shitty situation.

This is true, it's like nothing voting wise. I can only assume he means backlash but still seems unlikely that people care about 3x, but personal experiences are strong.

that's not nearly enough for people to care about personal experiences, either. There won't be any ramifications from this. The deaths are honestly small in number and are a price people are willing to pay for what they think is freedom or whatever. Even if it means crazy full hospitals.

Really interesting...I bet a ton of folks would argue this reduction isn't worth it and a lot of people who are very pro mask would be surprised at how small the reduction is...I think lots of maskers still think masks are a magic bullet (I could be wrong here, I don't exactly talk to anyone about this)

Not sure how it relates to that chart, but there was a news story a day or two ago about how Florida started reporting deaths differently recently. So, the actual number could be even higher than that.
