Mutant coronaviruses can make vaccines less effective. At the same time, vaccines can contribute to virus mutations, but this is a slow process that should be manageable.

Of course, nobody has to take dax or my word on what dax's link actually says. They can click on it and read themselves. There’s even an option to listen to it instead!

I read all of that, they’re purely speculating on the management part, and as expected you didn’t at all take into account the roll out period, the original age restrictions . . . nothing.

Your position requires a nearly instantaneous herd immunity level of intake of the vaccine.

There’s only a couple places on the planet where that’s happened over the course of months , and one is a CDC Level 4 Red region now.

No, my position is that you again completely misrepresented an article, an article anyone could easily click your own link to and read what it actually says.

Some people struggle with words like may,  could and should.

Surprising no one, trim as applied 100% certainty to the word: Should

Even more hilarious give that we are dealing with a novel virus and a type of vaccine never deployed before in the history of mankind.

There is no distinction between "may" and "can" in this context. I mentioned "can" because that was the word used in the lede you copied and quoted as tacit support for whatever position you hold that you refuse to articulate. Seems contradictory, but whatever. Not really interested in wasting my time arguing with you.

If you're using words like "may" and talking about covid, does it mean that you are CoronaBro spitballing?

How in the world wasn’t the position painfully clear?  What does the story say?  Just because trim was triggered as usual, and stupidly conjured up some sort of misrepresentation, doesn’t change anything.

You choose to jump in.  Damn

Thought this was interesting amidst all the talk about Delta variant and childrens' ICUs approaching max capacity.

Headline: "‘Choose courage’: Inside Children’s Dallas PICU, where kids with COVID and RSV are filling beds"

Body: "Forty-two patients were in Children’s Dallas PICU on Friday afternoon, out of 44 staffed beds. Four were positive for COVID-19."

So is the real headline an unprecedented spike in RSV, or is it just normal for hospitals to operate with nearly all ICU beds full? (Presumably under the assumption that they can expand as needed without a huge amount of hassle)

Based on vaccines administered, Gibraltar’s vax rate is 116%.

Gibraltar:  Still a CDC level 4 high risk area
Gibraltar has a significantly lower population than Manhattan, KS. Why is this important enough to you to bring up multiple times? Just curious.
Why does their population matter?

It’s just pathetic to watch Slow Dug try to fit in at the cool kid table.  It’s like knowing people who every time you meet or are in a meeting with them they tell the same old tired jokes and try to hit on the same schtick over and over again.  Just sad #frown

ok, it's just weird that you keep bringing it up. thought maybe you had a relative there you were trying to see or something.
Thousands of pages of CoronaBro’s melting down about everything and suddenly SteveDave declares that the highest vax’d rate region of the world being flagged as a CDC Level 4 high risk area is a nonevent.

LOL #onbrand

BTW, they’re now going to be pumping out a bunch of Pfizer chips.

"SteveDave declares that the highest vax’d rate region of the world being flagged as a CDC Level 4 high risk area is a nonevent."...... wut

That’s one hell of an alarmist headline.  As for the beds, icus typically run around 75% full.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Our pediatrician indicated it's a spike in RSV for this season (outside of normal rsv season).  But i can't comment on the normal capacity of a childrens icu.

On Sept. 12, 2019, coronavirus bat sequences were deleted from the institute’s database. Why? It changed the security protocols for the lab. Why? It put out requests for more than $600 million for a new ventilation system. What prompted this new need?

In January 2020 two hypotheses emerged about the origin of the novel coronavirus: that it began in a bat, then infected another animal before spreading to humans in a Wuhan “wet market,” where wild animals are sold for meat; or that it emerged from the Wuhan laboratory. The wet-market story was pushed by the Chinese CDC and the World Health Organization. Public-health leaders argued that Covid-19 was like SARS and MERS, earlier coronaviruses that emerged from bats and spread through an intermediate animal.

But neither of those viruses has ever evolved to the point where it can transmit efficiently from one human to the next. There have been fewer than 10,000 cases of each virus world-wide since SARS was discovered in 2003 and MERS in 2012. What virus comes out of a bat cave and infects humans by the millions? It’s not biologically plausible. If instead it evolved slowly over many years in nature, how come no one knew of it? -WSJ

https://www.wsj.com/articles/wuhan-virology-lab-leak-gain-of-function-research-ccp-beijing-covid-origins-coronavirus-11629037765?mod=e2tw

The story of SARS-Cov-2 started long before January 2020. We believe the virus was most likely uncontained in a laboratory where it was being worked on, and that it escaped unintentionally. A Harvard study of satellite images revealed a shutdown of traffic around the Wuhan lab in the late summer and early fall of 2019. Weeks later, in late September, the hospital parking lots were filling up.

There were hallmarks of scientific arrogance and failures in the containment system. China’s CDC initially appeared to be out of the loop but later became a key messenger, selling the natural-origin and wet-market theory. Another apparent misdirection was several key scientists’ insistence on a narrow definition of “gain of function” research to include remodeling, overt bioengineering, shaping or constructing a virus. As far as we’re concerned, if a virus is taught to or evolves in a lab to infect human tissue more efficiently, that’s gain of function.

https://twitter.com/ASlavitt/status/1427451910366273552?s=19

That was p good, I'm guessing it will shake down that there isn't a strong voice in the US to go all out on vaccines across the globe, tbf we will and are doing some and hopefully that will expand. I thought I saw something along those lines proposed in Congress but we will see. I'm guessing alot of people will just take the booster because otherwise "it will get thrown away helping no one" and it's probably advisable for a portion of them anyways.

Yeah this is a decision that isn't made by the individual vaccine taker. I will take my shot if that's the way we are going but I do want us to share more.
