skype for android came out today.  I'll give it a whirl.

Whats the difference between that and the Skype Mobile that was already on my phone (both the droid x and the droid 2 you broke)?

nothing.  verizon already had skype (as clams alluded to).  It's just public for all phones now.  remind me to break your droid X next time we PAK.

OK.  There's 4 non-touch-screen buttons on the droid x that you can probably bust up.
trim, funny story- do you know what Verizon was going to name the Droid X before changing their minds at the last minute and calling it the Droid X?

No?

Firefox/Fennec updated to Firefox4 for android and is supposed to be much improved.  I'm going to give it a whirl.  I thought the last version was a piece of crap though.

Android WIDGET Master Thread
« Reply #87 on: November 05, 2010, 12:08:47 PM »
Alright, so now that I finally got my hands on an Epic, I have all this real estate on my home screen, but not enough widgets to fill it up. Samsung is way behind HTC in the widget dept.

So far I've got:

  • Smooth Calendar
  • Bookmarks 2*3 (for dolphinHD browser)
  • Gmail Unread Count
  • ESPN ScoreCenter
  • StockWatcher
  • ToDo List

What else?

I am, there are pro's and cons for it.  I like that it lets you customize the launcher buttons since the version of touchwiz on the Epic doesn't.  But sometimes it doesn't pull up correctly, and it doesn't wake up with my screen, so I have to (blindly) open a program and that usually fixes it.  I also like how you can customize the amount of pages you have on your homescreen and choose which of the pages you want to be the actual "Home."

As far as widgets, "Beautiful Widgets" is a very good program.  It has a really cool Clock/weather widget along with a lot of other useful ones.  Like 1 touch bluetooth toggle and others like that.

some good ones

easy tether (allows tethering)
power amp (really good music player)
slide it (similar to swype, since swype isn't available to EVO anymore)
isyncr (sync's itunes to your android phone)

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Does Easy Tether support sharing over wifi?
