Other than straight up demagogue stuff obv. But I don’t believe that is Warren. I think she just legitimately evolved into a shitty socialist.

MIR-

I don't have a ton of time for this but nicname very rightly ID'd a real issue. Warren was a Republican until she was quite a bit older than I am now. She is not exactly crystal clear on whether there is daylight between Bernie and her on Medicare for All and nic is absolutely correct that given the choice, the DNC would deal with Warren but is absolutely dead set against Bernie. There are obvious downsides to this for Bernie (they are basically all that get talked about) but the upside is no one is worried Bernie doesn't mean what he says.

I certainly think Warren is a decent back up plan and am pretty happy that polling suggests that Bernie/Warren have a pretty good share of the democratic primary locked down. I just think that Warren has a ton of very apparent weaknesses as a candidate if electability is the only difference you really see between her and Bernie (and that can't be right, because they are still pretty different on policy!)

Sure, there are some, I think minor differences, between her and Bernie but they're not significant enough for a Democrat to essentially say it's Bernie and no one else, and try to justify it with policy positioning, that's ludicrous.

I like that Warren seems to have the best grasp of racial injustice in the US (along with Beto, I suppose). IMO it's probably our biggest issue along with health care

The biggest issue is foreign policy.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Eh a general reduction in spending and replacing a whackadoo would be great but mostly for having money to spend on other stuff. Not sure what aspect of foreign policy you find most important though

The money spent by the public to finance the “wars” that large corporations profit from is the most important aspect. The safety aspect of occupying state after state, toppling regime after regime and creating blowback that puts Americans (military and civilian) in danger is right there. The moral aspect of leaving regions shittier than when we arrived and killing tons innocent people also matters to me.

But yes, the money wasted on our continuous warmongering would do a lot better serving people here.

How so, because this is also my differentiator. She was the loudest voice willing to speak up for Ilhan Omar when the racist right decided to make her their cause. Most of the candidates have been vocal about some race based reforms, namely criminal justice. However, defending Omar as vocally as she did showed me that she isn't going to cut and run when it gets hard.

I hear ya, but the number of Americans in danger because of our foreign policy is wayyyyy smaller than the number of Americans in danger due to inadequate affordable healthcare or mass incarceration caused by war on drugs in poor minority communities. (the occupation of other nations is also morally wrong and I agree should be addressed)

Tuition free K-16, M4A EDIT to add: Living Wage, and such programs would be a lot easier to afford if we weren’t spending billions each month on military engagements that do us more harm than good.

I hate the prison industrial complex as much as I hate the military industrial complex.

I'd also add that IMO Warren does a good job addressing racial inequality in a way that doesn't make someone who makes me uncomfortable whites feel like there's reverse racism or taking something away from them

I mean apparently you hate the military industrial complex more. which is fine!

but I don't think you can entirely make the social changes or the foreign policy changes in a vacuum. They're definitely related. I'm just saying that I would prefer get universal health care without ending our perpetual foreign wars rather than ending perpetual war without universal health care. :twocents:

I should say I probably spoke a bit strong throwing Warren out with the rest of the democrats. She could win me over, but I’m skeptical. A lot of that does come from the DNC, mainstream dems and media seeming more favorable to her than other progressive types.

I’m not an ideologue. My pipe dream is a small federal government with state/counties/cities being anywhere on the left to right spectrum as they see fit. I don’t think we’ll ever have a true republic like that again anyway if we ever did.

I mean I’m all for Tuition Free K-16, M4A, $15 min wage, etc. I would have never said that 5 years ago.

Of course they are related. Haven’t I said as much? Excuse me if I didn’t. I think the reason I feel the military stuff is more pressing is that the president actually wields great power in foreign policy. The president needs a lot more help and time with regard to the other stuff.

don't let them browbeat you.  warren is complete trash.  you're better off voting for sanders (and i hate him).

warren - 26%
beto - 19%
sanders - 13%
buttigieg - 10%
delaney - 10%
biden - 6%
harris - 3%
yang - 3%
castro - 3%
gabbard - 3%
bennet -3%

two votes for warren were discarded because the voters were not registered democrats, a third was reassigned to sanders because no one believes michigancat isn't a berniebro.  three voters did not specify the candidate to receive their votes for "other", all three votes were assigned to delaney as the most likely intended candidate.

remember you have to sign your name on the ballot in california, michigancat, so i recommend you don't lie about who you support when you vote.  i'm not a lawyer, but i'm pretty sure that'd be perjury.
