2020 3rd Party Candidates
« on: May 21, 2019, 05:17:09 PM »
If all the dems are garbage (they are) and Trump is garbage (he is), will there be any non-weirdo losers that I can vote for as a 3rd party candidate?  Hopefully better than Jill Stein or that other weirdo loser guy from 2016 whose name I can't remember.

???

Bill Weld would be cool (libertarian vp candidate last election). But maybe he’s also gonna try to primary Trump? That would be p sweet.

Of course Tom will need to submit the appropriate paper work to your state’s Secretary of State for the vote to count. PM him so he can get the ball rolling if you plan to vote Tom.

As a conscientious republican I can confidently say the dems have several dozen candidates better than trump but I’m very open to a third party candidate as well. Let’s hear about them!

Right now in all reality it would be just as good to vote for a wheel bearing. With all of the work being done for the people, a wheel bearing would get just about as much done. Investigation nation is a failure of the utmost reality!  :'bye cruel world:

Voted Gary Johnson last cycle. Unlikely I’ll vote third party again in 2020 since it’s very likely the Dems will put up a better candidate. And I’m really not on the Schultz bandwagon at all even if that happens.

What is the function of a wheel bearing?
Wheel bearings allow wheels to rotate easily with minimized friction between the wheels and the axles to which the wheels are attached. This makes the motion more efficient, meaning less effort is required to rotate the wheels and less heat is generated. I’m more interested in the 4th party candidates if we are being completely honest.

Looking like the main 2 choices in the general will suck complete crap and balls.

Has anyone heard about any 3rd party candidates yet that might not suck complete crap and balls?

People can, in good faith, disagree on the public good and the policies that best achieve it.  What you don't need in a president is a policy wonk ideologue. All the ideas are already out there. You need a consensus builder.  So, are there any consensus builders out there who have shown a willingness to advance a dialogue toward common ground?  Probably not since only fringe weirdos can get elected now.

What's an example of a stance on an issue that would a dialogue towards a common ground?

Side note did you copy and paste that from a Pete speech?

That's a meaningless word salad that makes dax blush. In the modern history of western politics there has literally never been a consensus builder. There isn't a such thing as actual policy that doesn't disenfranchise some group of people, we're all different, bro.

Obama was probably the closest thing we have had to that in my lifetime and the senate wouldn't even let him appoint a supreme court justice.

Yeah, that's why I want one.  Our politics are a joke.  Seems like maybe we should try something different.  As for your last statement, 'consensus' means that there is an acceptable resolution for most people, even if not their favorite outcome.  It doesn't mean unanimous.  I don't think.

If you think the two major partys are fringe wierdos, then I don't think the 3rd party slate full of actual fringe wierdos is what you're looking for.

You're probably right. So it won't help us in 2020 but the real question is how do we get the 2 major parties to nominate non fringe weirdos.  Any ideas?

Require all states to have open primaries where people from other parties can vote.
