I just got offered another job. I'm going to accept. I'm not going to quit my current super pud job, though. I'm just going to do both.

I knew for certain that I was going to get an offer from this place the instant the zoom window popped up and I was looking at a pair of D1 and D2 doppelgängers. No crap. It's a little uncanny.

Double jobs is exactly the injection of action this thread needed. I’m very excited.

Yep, both full time remote.

The tricky part will be potential meeting conflicts. Old job has very few meetings. When I interviewed for the new job I was like, "how many meetings per week are there?" They said one. I said cool.

You know what this is like? It's like I have a type. And my type has a type, which is me.

It wasn't just their appearance either. The informality and not wanting to be bothered by too many details were exactly like the interviews for my current job. Like, they'd ask me how to solve a problem, I'd say a couple sentences, and they'd cut me off like, "okay, that's good. You know what you're talking about."

See, they were sort of embarrassed by this. Like they were wondering if maybe this is inadequate. That's how I knew they were my type. They kinda don't give a crap.

In contrast, I interviewed for another job with a middle aged Greek woman. Motherly type. Big on personal interaction. Super hands on. She started talking about how her subordinates recorded hours for different projects. I was like fuuuuuuuck that.

We're shopping for new software again. Yay. Who takes the lead on this big project? Old software guy, D2? Failed to implement new software two years ago, GG? Nope. Neither. HRP hired someone external.

This new person is charging full steam ahead on this project. D2 and GG are currently on a call discussing how they are being completely left out of the loop.

D2 (second time left out of the loop): "I'm starting to think this is a personal thing."

GG (who definitely left D2 out of the loop last time): "It shouldn't be all one person, it should be a joint effort."
