80's music was rough ridin' great, anyone who says otherwise is just wrong

Agreed. I bungled that post, what I'm essentially saying is that the 80's was the first decade when popular music had widely varying styles and genres. The next two decades built on that.

Is this specific to a certain genre or something? Urban music and women in music essentially became mainstream in the 80's and you have that behind decades in which these things didn't even exist.

I really wanted to put Bone Thugs down for one of my 90's bands. Wow, what a time to be alive!

It's specific to music I like.  Rock, Rap and Country were great in the 90s.

Rap was non-existent in the 60's and 70's. I'm not wild about 80's music myself but if you're a rap fan I don't know how you discount a decade that produced N.W.A, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Salt-N-Peppa, DJamer Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, Too Short, Kid-n-Play, etc. Rap has evolved twice over but the 80's were an amazing start to the genre.

Not early enough. How about Chuck Berry, Patsy Cline, Little Richard (Long Tall Sally), old blue eyes, etc.

Sam Cooke 60's
John Denver, CCR 70's
The Boss 80's
2Pac 90's

70s Sugarhill Gang was rap's zenith.
